Ok. I'm FINALLY getting down to the point where I'm in good financial standing to buy my very own car.

I've narrowed down the one I want to a Pontiac, mostly due to overwhelming word of mouth advice.

I also know that I want a convertable. Do not try to talk me out of this. I want a convertable. It is not negotiable.

Now, does anyone know if Sunfires come in convertable? I was looking at the new Tbird, but...it's nearly twice as expensive. If ONLY I could afford that, heh

Maybe I didn't make the whole "non-negotiable" thing very clear...

Hmmm, Pontiac convertable. Only one that comes to mind would be a '70 GTO convertable, but assuming you could find an owner willing to part with one you'd pay less for the T-bird.

curent model year pontiac firebird/trans am comes in convertible.

It is the first one that came to mind.

And sunfires don't come in convertiblt, but you can have them modified, but it's bad for the car (the roof is a big structural support, and if done improperly, your car suxxors after being chopped.

News to me, I thought the Firebird was out of production. But I'd still rather have the Goat.

What kind of car are you looking for?

You might want to look at a Mazda Miata. A friend of mine has one, its a blast to drive.

At least till you hit something, Miatas are about as easy to wad up as an empty beer can.

What?
Just so he can "rice" it up, put rims on it, black lights, spoiler, modify the front end, new decals and put a stereo that's worth 2x the actual car, into it?

Psshh. Get the damn Sunfire Mara.

Convertable... that invalidates all the research I've put into new cars over the past 2 months. Second decision I made was that I didn't want a car you could cut open with a pair of sewing shears.

Sunfires come in convertable but you have to ask the dealership to get one specially made for you. Expect to pay more than 19,000 for a better looking cavalier.

Both are cars I wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole. I have an extreme hatred for cavaliers, and a sunfire which is ugly to begin with, is even worse when it comes in convertable. When I think of convertable I think Trans Am, Mustang, etc. etc.

Maradon, if you have that much money(aka 19,000) buy a used Firebird, Camero, or something sporty. It will help you get a women. Hell you could problably get a new Camero for 19,000.

I'll drive my Mazda 626 v6 manuel(daily driver) and my Acura Integra 4 banger manuel any day over either of those cars. Both bought for around 8000 dollars with adverage mileage.

... My sunfire is a SEXY SEXY beast, and if you are going to go camero or firebird, don't get a V6 or I will KICK YOUR ASS.

I would recomend a 1996-2000 firebird ramair convertable, should be able to find one for about 20,000 (they origionally sold for 30,000) and that would smoke just about anything domestic short of a 2003 svt cobra or an exotic like a s2000, nsx, or corvette.

also GET A STICK SHIFT OR I WILL KICK YOUR ASS

I've got one guy that always comes into work in a gto, and it's so beautiful.

Anyway, i'd suggest a used firebird/trans am/camaro or mustang

It's a real sports car, and it's a convertible.

Best of both worlds.
