I love him. ^_^ Except when he whines for more food... (still handfeeding him)
Happy now, Art?
Cool bird, though.

No, Really. Bite me.

It is indeed a cockatiel - Pearl, to be exact. Impossible to tell if it's a male or female right now, though, unless if I check it in for a chromosome test.
lift up it's skirt?
if the bird wears slacks, it's a guy, skirt=girl.
No, Really. Bite me.

A sleep deprived The_Mac stammered:
maradon, if it's wearing a skirt, it's a female, no need to lift, unless of course, you're into furries (featheries)if the bird wears slacks, it's a guy, skirt=girl.
pff its 2002 buddy you cant trust that
guys should not wear skirts.
that being said, i've proudly and publicly worn on on several occasions
No, Really. Bite me.

The_Mac said this about your mom:
cad, i'm sorry, i'm kinda traditional that way.guys should not wear skirts.

Watches as an angry scottish mob bludgeons the_mac to shit with big fucking rocks...then goes and has a pint at the pub.
*looks closely* Yep. Definatly male. They have more crown feathers, and more contrast between the yellow and orange/red.
Also, they like to screw pencils. Anyway...
I hand raised about a dozen of the lil fuggers myself. I think they've started to take a liking to me, they dont bite me when I give 'em food and water.

those are called kilts.
men can wear kilts, that's fine.
skirts are a female article of clothing, and should only be worn by the females.
men can wear kilts, but not skirts
example: a bih, hairy irish man wearing a big, plaid kilt is fine. That same guy in a tight little leather mini skirt is just scary.
No, Really. Bite me.
Delphi... thanks. ^^ I wouldn't be surprised if Meepie was a male - he (she, whatever) likes to chirp a LOT. Males are talkers while the females are snugglers, from what I understand.
Granted, the things he chirps has some melody to it, but its the SAME THREE over and over and over and over and over and over and over and ove-AHHHHHGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!
I'm sadistic.
quote:
Baroness Addy had this to say about Punky Brewster:
Hehehe. ^^ That will come to my advantage - my mother hates the poor thing. I think the feeling is mutual between the two, though ... Meepie panicks whenever he's near my mother. Kind of sad. But funny at the same time... ^^;;I'm sadistic.
They are VERY attached birds. Anyone they dont know they will bite and scratch and stuff.
And they bite HARD. Bit through one of my fingernails once.
Anyway, My favourite thing to do now is to take a small hairclip that isnt a scrunchie.. ya know, like a wrapped rubber band kinda thing, and put them on their back.
Then I take the hairclip thing and make them grasp it with their feet as they nibble on it.. then I take my hand out from under them while holding the hair clip, and viola, you have a bird hanging upside down.
Takes a bit of practice, and some trust, though.
Cockateels are a funny bird...
He has one that likes to chew on my ear and earing...
*looks sad in a wide eyed, birdy sort of way*
My grandma also doesnt like any form of pet in her house. dog, cat, anything.
