Blue looks nice, but because your hair is naturally dark brown... Do you really want to bleach ALL of it??? This means that when the dye fades (and it WILL fade, unless you keep it dyed blue)... You'll have those brown roots coming in, until you dye your hair back to it's natural color - which can be tricky.
My friend bleached her whole head, dyed it blue, and the next day - it looked like she had one of those blue wigs on that you buy at Spencers. 
Natural hair color is best, in my opinion...If I were to give any advice, I'd say, if you're gonna dye it, consider a natural color - black, red, blonde, - in any shade....or a color that isn't natural, but can be made to look natural... Like...dark blue, with light blue high-lights, for instance. The different color shades will make it look 'natural'.

Pink or bright red, definitely. You'd look good in brighter colors. No green or blue unless they're LOUD ELECTRIC green or blue. I still think pink or red would work best.

.Still, I suggest dying it red. Not BRIGHT SHOCKING RED like I originally suggested, but not dark red either. That tends to look REALLY GOOD on dark, curly hair. If it was straight, then yeah, tips would work. Or you could do green or blue. Or even purple.
Or just bleach one streak and do a Bride of Frankenstein type thing.
