Question is, Im considering the purchase of one for use mostly at work (When Im doin stuff, I'm out of the office quite often, but needing info I have back at the office), and thats just one of the bigger reasons I am considering it.
So...those of you that have em, what do you recommend and why

Stuff about PDA's
More.. Tongue?
Runs PalmOS so it's like your good 'ole palm pilot, but it's cheaper, and the extension slot at the back allows for some truly geeky stuff.
(gps receiver, wireless LAN, turn your PDA into a mobile phone, more memory, etc.)
Got one myself a year ago and it's most awesome
The Palm VIIx that I have isn't too bad, but I wish I had waited a month or 2 and gone for the Palm 705....
What I really want is the 705 in color.
But now it sits beside my bed, as a dust catcher. Was a waste of money for me from the start(even though it wasnt my money). I never really used it for anything but games in class.
Look into the Treo line--they have some with built-in communication, and some without.
Also, I hear good things about the Clie, but I hate Sony so don't know that much about it.

Handsprings are dead units. Great design though... I'm pondering getting one and trading in the Palm VIIx that I have.
Just retired my VIIx for a Kyocera SmartPhone.....
mmmmm.........convergence.......
Thinking about your posts
(and billing you for it) since 2001
Their Treo line is cool as hell, I think. It's just a smaller, nicer version of what I have with my Prism/Visorphone combo.
For just a simple PDA, the Treo 90 lacks the phone part, but is still a cool PDA with an SD expansion slot.
I wish they'd stuck with Springboard, but that's cool, too. [ 06-06-2002: Message edited by: Bloodsage ]

Do not think of it as a replacement for your regular computer, it's a replacement for the computer you had 6-10 years ago.
It can do lots, just not as fast or as much as a desktop/laptop.
Also looked at the Toshiba PocketPC e310.
Im wantin something thats VERY VERY thin (Visor Edge and Palm m500)
BUT If i get a palm m500 (for 249 after the discount at staples this weekend) you can get a FREE M105. Would give that to my grandpa most likely, he could use one when out doing appraisals.
and machina, i get that. Im notn eeding it to replace my main system or anything, just somethin to carry all the phone numbers, serial numbers for products we use at work, passwords, blahblahblah. And if my business idea gets off the ground, itll be nice to have then.
Question to you palm/handspring owners: Is there a way i can write and save my exact writing? I know it has that graffiti stuff, but im wondering if i can save my actual writing.
Will likely buy a foldup keyboard for whichever one i buy too...

Not dead but they need to work fast.
