Fry sauce is pretty rare out east.

It's common in the west

I remember when I was little and we lived in ohio I didn't understand why the restaurants there did not have it and the restaurants in Utah did.

Fry sauce is great.

Take some Ketchup, mix it with an equal amount of mayo. Add in just a touch of pickle juice to spice it up a little. Viola, you have fry sauce.

Most places just mix Ketchup with Mayo and be done with it.

That's just fine, still tastes good. But when making home-made, I put in the pickle-juice to thin it out and add some kick

mmmm...fry sauce...

Too bad the fast food chains don't have it, just the 'old fashioned' burger places.

Not true, the A&W fast food joints here in Utah have it

Dunno if that's nation-wide, tho.

Psst.

Fry sauce is just Thousand Island Dressing with a funky name and without the relish.

Maybe, but it's much easier to mix ketchup, mayo and pickle juice together than it is to strain the relish out of thousand island dressing.

Heh. I used to make that as a kid. I didn't know where my parents got the idea, but now I do.

And, now that you've reminded me of it, I want some. With some good fries to go with it.

Oh yah. Salsa and Mayo also work well together. If not for fries, then for thin steaks.
