But I agree with Suddar, scrap the character design and redo all of them, and you have a good looking game. Backgrounds look pretty good

The graphics don't suck, they're infantile. They're actually quite good, but I'm of the opinion that, even if they do try to shoehorn a "sophisticated" plot into such a sugary environment (which they won't), the absurdly cartoony juvenile themes will completely ruin the experience.
