Anyone got suggestions on some good songs to download?

I've got Mr. Roboto, Safety Dance, Tainted Love and Devo's Whip it.

I'm making an 80's revival cd...so I'm trying to find the good classics

You could just browse the appropriate section of your local music store, also, rather than stealing it.

On a somewhat unrelated note, I DESPERATELY want to buy Mellon Collie and the Inifinite Sadness (Smashing Pumpkins) so I agreed to babysitting for my sister.

Well, joy of joys, she isn't paying me this time and she decided not to tell me in advance. =\

Considering I don't have a few hundred dollars to spend on the actual individual Music CDS just for one or two songs? Umm..No

When a band releases a CD that I really like, I buy it. Hell, I could choose to download Our Lady Peace's new album off of Kazaa! but I'm not...This is because I'm trying to be a purist on this CD, and It's My favourite band. I bought 3 copies of Spiritual Machines for myself. And I plan to buy a hell of a lot of CDS this summer too....Weezer will be the first.

Yeah, damn. What an idiot I've been!

Of course not having funds to buy luxury items completely justifies stealing them! Whatever was I thinking?

Yeah, and then I go to Amazon.com and type "Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness" in the little search box. Lo and do behold, it appears before my eyes, in less than 5 minutes.

And yours will be better?

Nope. Probably worse. :/

It's rather hard to make a good and legal 80's Compilation album, seems like you aren't going to do either.

Aren't there ways to make custom mix CDs online?

Heh. My problem is that all my great '80s music is on vinyl.

I need to rifle through it, and decide what I want to buy on CD, then rip the rest of it onto my hard drive via my sound card. Lower quality, but what the heck.

Mountain Dew (I think) had a thing like that going on for a bit. So many proof of purchases and you could make a 10-song album off their webpage and have it mailed to you. Maybe it was Pizza Hut.

Either way, all the songs on the available list sucked.

I think one of the subscription MP3 services allows that, but I'm not sure.

No Need For a Name- Turning Japanese is a good one, as well as Take on Me by Aha. Those are the only two different ones with the name of the song I can remember off the top of my head. Others might be Flock of Seagulls, Tears for Fears, and the like, try looking for those 80's CDs, that's your best bet.
