About a half hour long. Galaxies looks sweet while running.
I'm gonna be here a while.

that was on a geforce 3. Say hello to vertex based rendering.
I just know this is going to start another flame war about "ITS NOT FAIR THAT MY COMPUTER, WHICH I BUILT TWO YEARS AGO, ISN'T GOOD ENOUGH FOR A BRAND NEW AND VERY DEMANDING GAME ENGINE. I DEMAND THAT THEY LOWER THE REQUIREMENTS WITHOUT DAMAGING THE QUALITY OF THE GRAPHICS." etc etc etc...

No no no... It's:
"It's not fair that my computer, built 2 years ago, can run Serious Sam II and Unreal II smoothly while Luclin, with inferior graphics, runs at a crappy 10 fps."
Sorry, I just don't trust VI with engines.

He is pathetic. I just knew there had to be something wrong with him when he thought that working for Compaq meant he knew something.
*starts singing*
Min Specs are a PIII 700, 512Mb of RAM and a GF3.
I'm sure a P4 1.83, 512Mb of RAM and a GF4 4400 *might* be able to get the final product to perform passably.... in 800x600.

It was before Luclin...
And the word "minimum" means "will barely function".
The recommended requirements are closer to what you guys think "minimum" means. [ 05-09-2002: Message edited by: Kegwen 2.0 ]

Thank you, Captain Obvious! Didn't you know when the minimum/recommended requirements are ridiculously disproportionate for the game, they say, "The engine sucks"?
We haven't seen Galaxies yet, but I have yet to see VI make a good engine, too. They really should license the Serious or Unreal Engine. Fuckers. [ 05-09-2002: Message edited by: Lord Tier ]

That's it, I'm setting up an altar now to pray at twenty-four times a day that I get in SW:G Beta.
If I'm not in that, my life is forfeit.

I think its a fan who went to E3 and filmed it with his own camera, then submitted it to an officially supported, but not run, fansite. /shrug

Didn't think E3 was until later this month.

Doh. Maybe it was a special viewing for something. I heard that idiot behind the camera say "So what did you add since the last E3?", so I assumed. Oops.
Who cares, the speeder looked awesome.

Good thing Verant has absolutely nothing to do with this game!

Yaes, I thought it was just people from Star Wars in conjunction with SOE doing this game..
Lucasarts does the game itself, SOE provides the netcode (Which has been stellar, if you consider the number of users compared to the number of disconnects.)

I'm pretty sure SoE is going to be making the game, period, with Lucasarts making sure the game stays "in character".
They're the ones with "The Vision" in other words.
But I guess that's completely irrelevant to anything now isn't it?
quote:
Verily, Delphi Aegis doth proclaim:
Isnt Verant a wholly owned subsidiary of SOE, or something? .. Eh, either way they took some good people (Not all of them) from the Live team and put them to work on SW:G.
Verant == SOE
Anyway, for LucasArts being the project... That remains to be seen. I know LucasArts provides background and universe info, but why would the mainstream site be SOE's rather than LucasArts's?
Who cares. I'll just see how badly it bombs/rocks. [ 05-10-2002: Message edited by: Lord Tier ]

I always though Verant is a division of SoE that was developed to develop EQ since EQ required more work than SoE alone was prepared to dedicate to it.
In other words, the game made the developer in this case. Makes sense since pre-release EQ was distributed with an SoE label on it, and Verant didn't exist before EQ.
Essentially, SWG has got nothing to do with EQ or Verant, It's almost certainly got nothing to do with the live team. [ 05-10-2002: Message edited by: Maradön? ]
