Might actually have to get a PS2 by then to see if that's any good.

What about FFXI? If it comes out before EQ:A, then wouldn't IT be the first ever online-only console game?

True, it did. But I swear, there was some really lame alien shooting game for the DC that was online only.
If not I fear that the game will be very "static" without the possibilty of adding more content ... like zones, MOBs, races, continents ... (even moreso than EQ. :P)

THis game doesn't look bad but I think you are losing the big advantage to an online game. THe Ability to add content. If it was for the Xbox perhaps... But it seems to me that this cuts down on your options.

Both PS-2 and PC...maybe Xbox as well...so by what you said, it is going to suck for PS-2 and kick ass on PC, yet the same game.

If they add a harddrive to consoles doesnt that just make hem slower computers with controllers instead of keyboards?
The console may be slower, but they are all the same. Code for something like this can be tested on one copy of a console, and be expected to work the same on ALL copies of that console, unlike PCs. All the extra code they have to do to deal with varied types of PCs will be gone.
Cleaner code, fewer bugs (I hope), and a relyable set of hardware/software features to use. These make up for the lack of speed in a console, and can sometimes make it run a console version of a game faster than a computer can run the PC version.
Not to mention, the PS2 has no Blue Screen Of Death.

But soon it will have the Orange Screen Of Disconnection.
This had better be a damn good game if im gonna have to spend that much money for it.... and im sure that sony will charge monthly for this game.

The Xbox has a 5 gig hard drive and runs on a modified version of Windows.

10 gig, ph00l.
8 gigs for saves.
