Welcome to another (and LONG overdue) installment of Anime Mage's Anime Review, starring me, the Anime Mage herself, Rhiannah!

Today we're gonna look at a personal favorite of mine, Dragon Half! This time, I've had the benifit of seeing both the Subtitled and Dubbed versions (mostly 'cuz the Subbed came out like 2 or 3 years before the Dubbed), so it'll like make my review all the much better! ^.^

Anyways, this anime's about Mink, a chick with a really awesome wardrobe, whose parents are this guy and a dragoness. Now Mink's like totally in love with this Idol Singer named Dick Saucer. Unfortunately, he's like also a Dragonslayer so he like want to kill 'cuz he thinks she's this icky evil dragon! Man, love sucks sometimes!

Luckily, onna Mink's friends knows about this Pido Potion thingie that can turn the person that drinks it into a human. Cool! She'll be able to get her stud in no time!

... that is if Princess Vina and King Shiva don't kill her first. Shiva's like all pissed at Mink's dad for not killing Mink's mom (though at the time Mink wasn't even born yet) and now want's Mink's mom to herself. Vina's this stuck up princess bitch that's like the prez of the Dick Saucer fan club and totally wants him all to herself.

There are these other dudes that're tryin' to kill Mink too 'cuz Shiva order 'em too, but Mink's able to mess 'em up REALLY good.

The anime only has two volumes. First one covers Mink findin' out about the Pido Potion and goin' off to find it. Second volume deals with her fightin' in the Brutal Killer Martial Arts Tournement so she can earn the money to get there. The manga it's based on goes a lot longer, but fer some reason, they just never made more of the anime. Bummer!

I dunno, I personally liked the Subtitled better than the Dubbed version, but that's just me. Each got their preferences, and I ain't gonna bore ya with mine.

Cast!

- Mink: Yeah, this is the heroine of the show. She's half human, half red dragon, makin' her a DRAGON HALF! (and don'tcha ferget it or she'll beat ya up)

- Rufa(Lufa): Name changes between translates, but she's basically Mink's bisexual elven friend who's a totally crappy aim when it comes to spells.

- Pia: Another of Mink's friends. This little girl wear's heavy armor all the time because of her overprotective parents and is rather dull in the head. Luckily she's got...

- Mappy: This little star mouse can transform into this big honkin' demon mousie thingie with fangs and claws. It's also Pia's pet/guardian in a way.

- Dick Saucer: The legendary Idol Singer and dragon slayer. Nice enough guy, but duped by the King into believing Mink is an evil dragon.

- King Shiva The king. He married Venus (who was really a slime that drank the Pido Potion) and lost his last hair when he saw his daughter born a slime. Now wants Roice's wife to himself and Mink dead for busting up his castle.

- Venus: Vina's mom. Only shown in flashbacks. Drank the Pido Potion so she could marry the man she loved. Died when she saw her daughter was still born a slime.

- Princess Vina: The princess and head of the Dick Saucer fan club. She's born a half slime (that looked completely like a slime) and had to practice dark magic in order to take on a human shape. She believes that since she's got such a -truamatic- past, she's like destined to have Saucer er somethin'. Really just a drama queen in this mage's opinion.

- Mink's Parents: Roice (formally the Red Lightning of King Shiva and Mink's mom (can't remember her name an' too lazy to look it up... >.< ). Dad is a lecher and a perv that's constantly getting smacked around by his wife (who can assume humaniod and dragon forms at will).

- Rosario: Shiva's assassin, I think... but whatever, he's a loser. Can't get any of his traps to work right 'cuz they usually backfire on him or someone other than his target.

- Damaramu (Dama Rama): A general hired by Shiva to take down Mink, ends up impaling himself in the head with his own sword and later is rebuild as a mecha version of himself with a bitchin' arsenal including the dreaded Finger Water Squirt Gun!

- Dug Fin: This l'il guy is the son of the Demon King, Azatodeth. He believes Mink plans to kill his father so had entered the Brutal Killer Martial Arts Tournement to kill her himself.

Woo! There's lots more I could say about his awesome anime, but I dun wanna ruin much more of it fer ya! I SO recommend renting or buying this one. It's just too funny!
