Funnel cake is like, kinda like doughnut batter, but it's dropped in an ornate pattern in some oil, baked, and covered with powdered sugar.

Tastes damn good.

Depending on where you are from, it may be called in Elephant Ear. Basically the same thing, but about a 1' diameter if you get a good one.

Its more like waffle batter dripped into hot oil (and thusly, fried) with powdered shugah sprinkled on top. Yum.

I used to MAKE those, and let me tell you not only are they tasty, they're fun too! heh.

Also, elephant ears are more like a giant, sweet cracker and they're made with different batter. Funnel cakes > Elephant ears.

As I recall, elephant ears tend to have jam or something with them as well.
