I'm thinking of playing an Iksar character.

One question I don't know the answer to, though.

Warrior or SK?

I vastly prefer my Iksar SK to the warrior that I used to play. Only problem is that starting is pretty slow as the SK...

Warrior or SK?

Before I state my opinion and we go on and on about things regarding it ^_^ let me ask,

What is the purpose for this character?
Roleplay?
Fun?
To be the best?
To stalk someone?

Hmm... Kind of a mix of RP and fun.

I've always liked warriors, but I dunno...

OKay, for RP and Fun.

Warriors dont have to be evil, Sks pretty much do, for the most part.

Warriors level a tiny bit faster then SKs (Yes, they do. Warriors and rogues retained their exp bonus even after hybrids had their penalties removed), so fun wise, you'll get more levels quicker.

SKs have a huge variety of spells, one of the best out there and you dont have to wait forever for them.

Warriors get combat skills sooner and tend not to die as much early on.

The two most important differences (for me):

SKs get an invisibilty spell.
Warriors don't.

SKs get FD.
Warriors don't.

(Not counting items of course.)

A shadow knight would be best. Most useful in groups, I assure you. In my Dalnir groups, I aggro EVERYTHING we fight. Goo, nibbler, kly, everything comes to me. Thank got for the chanter's mez with the multiple mobs.

You want RP? Shadow Knights live to serve Cazic-thule and carry his will to the far corners of Norrath and Luclin. We are the bringers of death. We rarely eat. We never sleep. And we will never stop. (I love 'The Mummy')

We work towards Greenmist(something warriors don't get) 1h slash, 18/24(I think), str, mr, agi, other stats. second best 1h slash in the game. PLus we can get Innorruuk's Curse.

Plus most people want you for groups. With your spells and melee abilities, you can get good groups and keep aggro on you. Making it simple to keep track of healing. Trust me, become an Iksar Shadow Knight. You'll love it.

Did I mention spells? All our spells are useful for us. Debuffs of all kind, strength, ATK, Skill points, AC drains. Lifetaps. Pets(which sucks MAJOR ass). Plus our harmtouch. 10xlevel+1 damage. Works like a charm in some situations. Saved many a group member and my life on PVP raids.

Or you can be a warrior. Kick. Hit. Get hurt. Get healed. Kick. Hit. Get hurt. etc. etc. etc. BORING

Your choice though.

There is an ancient Iksar saying, that something lasts only as long as the last person remembers it. My people have come to trust memory over history. Memory, like fire, is radiant and immutable. Those who renounce the flame of memory in order to put out the dangerous fire of truth: Beware these men, for they are dangerous themselves... and unwise. There are false histories written on the blood of those who might remember, and on those who seek the truth.

You should be the Warrior...because...uhm...warriors...get a better mez...that...SK's don't get, because they don't have enough mana...with thier weapons...and thier epic is better.

Yeah.

Monk or Shaman, IMHO.

Iksars make semi-ok Necromancers, IF you twink the hell outta them to get over the lower starting Int. The native regen later becomes nice, if you can get a Zlandicar Heart. Warriors are warriors. Typically if you've played one, you've played them all. SK's are some of the most frustrating things in EQ, ESPECIALLY Iksar SK's. Slowest leveling thing in the game, even after the Hybrid XP boost (racial XP hit).

Monks are just good asskickers and having the regen and AC boost over a human is damn nice. And the AC and Regen boost for a shaman, especially when you start looking into a regen tunic, chloroplast and native regen, are really killer.
