I saw that one the other day (one of the folks in my game showed it). Thought it was hilarious.

And you have to have long hair to be an effective wizard. It's in the contract. Elminster, Raistlin, Gandalf, Dumbledore, Me. Long hair, it helps.

Hair's important. Beard isn't. Elves don't grow beards and Elves created all the good Old Magic (like Mythals).

And no, burning it off doesn't rob you of your power. All the explosions I've been in, I'm lucky I'm not permanently bald.
