Any thoughts? Who do you want to win? Who do you think will win? [ 02-13-2002: Message edited by: Troodon ]
Best Picture: LotR

Best Leading Actress: Nicole Kidman or Renee Zellweger
Best Supporting Actor: Ian McKellen
Best Supporting Actress: No pick.
Directors: Peter Jackson or Ridley Scott.
Animated Feature Film: Shrek, hands down.
Best Score: Howard Shore.
Best Songs: No pick.
Visual Effects: Lord of the Rings.
Sound: Black Hawk Down or Lord of the Rings.
Sound Editing: No pick.
Makeup: Moulin Rouge or Lord of the Rings.
These are who I think, not neccessarily who I want.
Who I WANT to win:
Best Picture: Lord of the Rings
Best Actor: Sean Penn
Best Supporting Actor: Jon Voight (great job of playing Howard Cosell, I though. Much more believable than Will Smith as Ali.)
Best Song: May it Be (Normally, I can't stand Enya, but this is an exception, this song goes so well with the movie)
Best Score: Hard to choose between John Williams (Harry Potter) and Howard Shore(LotR). But I guess I'd have to say Howard Shore, as much as I hate voting against John Williams. Besides, Williams has 5 oscars already anyway.
I think LotR has a pretty good chance of getting the special effects awards it's nominated for, and I think it desrves them.
I think Shrek both deserves, and is likely to win, best animated film.
Who I think WILL win:
Best Picture: Likely A Beautiful Mind. I have a feeling the Academy will go for this one. All though LotR I think has a decent chance, it's more of a long shot.
Best Actor: Russell Crowe, with a slight chance of Denzel Washington.
Best director almost always goes to the same movie as best picture. Last timr it didn't weas when Spielberg got director for Saving Private Ryan, but Shakespeare in Love won instead for best picture. But that's only the second time in Academy history that's happened (I believe... might be wrong, but I know it's a rare occurence, even if it's happened more than twice)So when they announce the director winner, you're pretty safe in assuming the picture will go to the same movie.
Bridget Jones' Diary was crap.
