Nope. It's been happening a bit recently.
I was grouped with one guy who had the surname Ihateverant a few weeks back, and sometime around two hours in, during a moment of downtime, one of those messages popped up saying "Everyone has a sudden urge to ask Keylan his name" right after his surname was changed to Bunnylover.
It was very odd. Wish I'd taken some screenshots.

Name a server that isn't.
As for the players, Sol Ro isn't significantly better or worse. Have the same spectrum from best to worst as on other servers. But I'm used to it, and know the people. Especially in my guild.
