I have finally gotten myself the EverQuest Trilogy. Yey now I sit through much bordom of patching, wait better idea, I'll play FFIX and sleep while it patches.

In other news I got myself a Fighting Baton for my Monk, god I love the monk class now being twinked is fun, even if you don't have any thing for defense.

Fighting baton is a great monk item... was still using mine until 32, when I got a Sceptre of Mastery. I then traded it for a Crystal Covered Shroud, not a bad robe for a monk, and love the way it looks now with Luclin graphics.

The FB I got from a 53 monk in OT who had no use for it anymore... who just gave it to me for free. Have to love generous people... if I can ever afford to be that generous, plan on doing so. Want to encourage the next generation of monks, especially humans (the few, the proud) who don't just automatically pick iksar if they want to be a monk.

Human monks are still out there... in fact grouped with a lvl 43 one yesterday in Dreadlands. Thurgadin always seem to have a few humans with their Robe of the Lost Circle or Robe of the Whistling Fists. Saw a human grandmaster at the Nexus not too long ago...

And still see at least 3 or 4 monks in EC when I pass thru there. Human monks seem to be outnumbered by iksar at lower levels, but it starts to even out the higher you go. Which suggests to me that a lot of monks choose iksar thinking it's easier, and give up their monks later, while the ones that start out as humans are more likely to perservere.

Or so it seems anyway. Not saying anything for or against human or iksar monks, just commenting on personal observations. My observations may not be statistically significant, my samples might be atad skewed.

But the handful of high level human monks I've spoke to never seemed bothered that iksars are supposedly overpowered, and that human monks aren't elite anymore. Quite the opposite. They seem to feel that because there's fewer of them, that they're more elite because of it, and because they took the harder route, their level means more.

Ah, enough rambling. Just wanted to point out that as far as I can tell, most human monks aren't bothered by iksar being allowed to be monks. It's just that, as with all issues, the dissatisfied are always more vocal than the satisfied. More people take the time to complain about what they don't like than to take the time to say they like it the way it is. Which makes perfect sense.

Yes, quite a few of them, some more emphasized than others...

Mostly it was just me writing down whatever my train of thought was taking me. But it kind of got derailed along the way...

Whatever. Feel free to take from it whatever you like, or not. Doesn't bother me either way.
