Well, they didnt do anything to the spell per say...

But it doesnt work in any of the high level SoL zones

Wow, news like this really instills in me a a sense of adventure and excitement. I feel a desire well up to explore and organize large, highly frustrating raids to aid me in fathoming the deepest, most secretive places in the game so that I might plunder the riches that almost certainly aren't there.

Thing is, unless they make the entry to the bosses area a totally different zone, there will still be a way to get around the key requirements, even without having use of a mage's CoH or using a hole in the roof. All you need is a cleric, a necro, a shitload of coffins, and a raid force willing to die once to get there. Unless they disable the use of summon corpse and resurrect in the zones (I really really doubt they would go that far...), there will always be a way around the key. If they dont want people to be able to get to the boss mob without a key, make it a damn different zone.
And you can still be free, If time will set you free

CoH for us is mainly used to help late comers to raids catch up. Now that is no longer possible in some of the more dangerous zones.

It's not a huge thing, just kinda dissappointed.

Alright, nerf the only thing magicians are used for.
I spend more time watching TV on raids then I do well anything. heh

Only OTHER time ive used CoTH for(non later comer situations) was a few days ago in WW when me and a few others were single pullin dreagons in front of ToV, and also on adds. (1 person would pull, aggro a couple dragons, main puller run 1 dragon down canyon, 2nd would tag, I would coth main puller and other dragon went right back to its place)

They also nerfed rod of transgresenblahblah in most zones(including some preSoL zones).

There really was no point in nerfing CotH in that zone, was there?

Pathetic.

They didnt need CotH or Rezes or Corpse Summons to get to Seru. They just GFlux'ed through the hole.

Call of the Hero. It's a Mage spell that summons a PC to the Mage and clears it's agro. Very handy for getting people to the back of dungeons quickly.

Weren't they just GFluxing a Mage up and having him CoH people up? I think that's far more efficient, anyway.

question is, why is the wall low enough to gflux over to begin with?

Maybe it was designed that way on purpose so Verant could have a bit of fun?

That's the kind of thing that kills suspension of disbelief in EQ for me... If I walked up to that spot in real life and my party *had* to get up there then why shouldn't I pick the spell that lets me do that without finding the key?

Lord Seru says: "Hey! That's no fair! I'm telling"

Actually, its not as efficient.

1 mage takes 500 mana to summon one person, along with a pearl. on a FULL BAR of mana, i can summon 6 people.

A Gflux costs far less, and can hit 5 people at a time

Gflux, IMO, is more efficient.

but you can only duel one person at a time, then one has to log out so you can duel the next.

My original thought when I posted this is that now mages are entirely useless in SoL raid situations, unless fighting cold based critters.

They need to give mages lure based nukes or something to compensate I think.

It is, but unless you want everyone who gets gfluxed to have to relog, bringing enough pearls and a couple necros to feed the mage mana, would be more time efficient.

Given the spell refresh time on CoH, send the mage up, have him summon 2 bards and tell them to shaddup and sing. Typically that's enough and you still have room in the party for the group leader on the ground and the persons being transported...

Unless they were significantly less efficient than the wizards', I'd be very upset.

It's bad enough that Lure of Ice PCs at 150K (so, really, camping Juggernauts 'til you get lucky is the only option)...

Wizard class right now is at a very precarious balance, so I'm waiting for a nerf to knock us out of balance, or a buff to knock us to overpowered (in which case, players will complain, and the resulting counternerf will be worse than if we had actually just been nerfed originally).

Oh, and by the way, I got subtle spellcasting lastnight. It rocks.
