i think its the other way around... at least Digimon has a plot (its confusing at times but its a plot)
He was my favorite rookie-level Digimon from the first Digimon series. I identified him with Deth because Tentomon was the academic sort of Digimon and he was, shall we say, rather eccentric. A looooooooong time ago I used Tentomon (as you see him in the top picture on that page) as my sig pic, and would jokingly pseudo-RP being one in the IRC channel. One night I was goofing off and said "You know you want to smooch the tentomon". I said it to Lyinar, but didn't stipulate that fact in the statement, so everyone started to smooch the Tentomon. Was rather funny (and some folks still do it), soooooo I have it in my sig as a rather fond reminder of bygone times.

Ye see, Tenta- would refer to tentacles. Im guessing Tento- means something along the lines of Bug lookin thing.
