I left Triton.

Afer a bunch of deliberation, I finally came to realise that the lack of fun in EQ for me was that I couldn't play with whoever I wanted to, whenever I wanted to. Triton demands their people to raid, and if I was playing with my sweetheart, I would have to desert him to raid.

Looking back, I should have left Triton long ago. I let status get in the way of fun, and that was wrong. Being true to yourself is very important, and I have never been about uberness, rather, I have played EQ for the friendships. My guild got in the way of that, and it was time for me to rectify that.

I recall hearing about guilds that demanded home phone numbers so they could call you and demand you come on a raid if they needed you.

Now that's taking things too seriously.

it's like

Girl: "Oh! Oh! Oh Maradon!! Oh oh oh!!"

*phone rings*

Maradon: "Hello?....huh what? You need corpses summoned from Kedge!? Get an SK to do it!!... *sigh* OMW."

*click*

Maradon: "Sorry hun I've got to go raid."

Good decision, Nae!

I havent been in a guild that does anything to raid, but sometimes I wish I did, though that is taking it way too far.

EQ is supposed to be fun, and I'm glad that you've made it so.

Actually the least plausible thing of all is that anyone would need a Necro enough to bother calling

Triton prides themselves upon being the first on the server to do things. They are pioneers of a sort. In order to accomplish the things they do, they require 100% participation from their members. In recompense, you get the pride of being a part of Ubertakedown_03 and the chance at really good gear.

I have never been about gear. I never really fit in. The sad thing is that my goodbye thread had 2 responses. Why? Because I am not a powergamer. Never have been, so I will not be missed.

In fact that's pretty much an unofficial definition of an uberguild: A group of people who feel that doing something before anyone else can somehow makes them cool.

Being a part of the 'first to kill XX mob on the server' guild, we have never had to require anyone to attend raids. People just come because they want too.

I think a lot of this is because the guildmaster has a very busy RL, so he doesnt require anyone to make a raid. But loot is distributed based on attendence points, the more you attend, the more loot you can get.

There have been times I didnt feel like going to ToV so I jumped on an alt and played. It's nice having those freedoms =)

Nah, the unofficial definition is: A group of players with the ability to work together better then everyone else.

The rest of what happens just comes out of having the best teamwork on a server.

Nae, Congratulations,

Actually, I'm kinda surprised about what a great guild Blades of Law has turned into.

I'm still the lowest level Main Character in the guild (42), but They still lub me, despite my lack of uberness.
It's great though, I can be in Evercrest's IRC room, then leave the IRC Room, and log onto EQ and Guild Chat, and I don't ever feel like I've even left Evercrest. They act exactly like you guys ( ).
It's also a loving Guild, almost ALWAYS someone availabe for Ports, or Rezzes. If you need to raid something for a quest, it usually doesn't take much to get it going. We have a lot spur of the moment raids.

'course, they're doing EToV today and tomorrow, so that means No Kael Raids (only ones I'm high enough for, LOL). But, I'll deal,

Nae, Congrats on leaving Triton, hope your Gaming Experience improves. I know Luclin really got me back into the game.
Oh, and I talked to Ryan briefly the other day (I saw him on) and he's very courteus and entertaining,

Dad's going to kill you. Really. He is.

Actually my guild called me during a semi-date about 3 months ago. The bad part is I forgot to think about what my talking would sound like to someone who doesn't play eq.

'Hello there'
'Yeah, it's gev, what's up?'
'Now? Wasn't he due to spawn tomorrow?'
'Yes I know we need the goddamn teeth'
'I'm busy now, 25 people is enough for that damn wuss'

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

Congratulations on your decision. Having fun with your friends is far more important than raids and uberloot.

The guild I'm in often puts out a call for volunteers for raids and epic hunts, but never insists that people turn up. The high levels in my guild don't get as much done or as much uberloot, but I know they have fun.

Now go, enjoy your freedom by frolicing in the Faydark mists and desert sands.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

I know exactly what you mean, LOL. Non-EQers listening to EQ Conversations result in some pretty funny reactions..

"She tried to feign but she just couldn't get it off in time."
"So he beat her down then?"
"Yeah."
"He was drunk, wasn't he?"
"Yeah, you could hardly understand a word he said. She should report that guy."

I know there were 3 guys at my High School who were all Tallon Zek Players..

In other words, they're for people with no lives.

It's not to DEMAND that you come to a raid. It's to see if you -can-.

I never would have completed my Cleric's epic if it weren't for that. Ragefire spawned at four AM pacific, when there's one person on my friends list. I tell that one person he spawned. He tells his guild(whom I was raiding with regularly, looking to join). They start calling people to see if they're home and can come. Fourty five minutes later my force of seven people becomes a force of 24 and we own Ragefire up.
