You probably have it hooked up through your VCR, thats a security feature made by DVD companies that helps persuade people to not copy dvd's because of shottiness like that. Best to try and find a TV to directly plug it in to.

Funny, my dvd player is hooked up to my VCR and the gamma stays the same. But then again, we have to use channel 00 on the VCR,.

I have to do that also, yet I get the fading brightness.

And why are all my burned games coming up as audio CD's?

I thought the PS2 played burned games?

So when everyone and thier mom was saying the PS2 played burned games becuase Sony didn't want people with lots of burned games to shy away from buying a PS2, it was all a load of crap?

Are you nuts? The ORIGINAL Playstation didn't even play burned games without a mod chip. Keep your original PS around for those offsite backup copies.

As far as the Macrovision problems, check with your local Radio Shack, they'll have something that'll be able to strip off the copy protection from the signal.

First time I hear someone say the PS2 play copied games out of the box. I don't know who told you that but he must be pretty fucked up. Sony makes MOST of their money with the royalty games-makers pay them.

You've been listening to some messed up conversation Maradon.

Why would Sony be THAT stupid to basically say, "Steal our games, we don't care"

Also try to get the SONY DVD remote($19.99). In the package there will be a CD with new drivers for the DVD player, just save them on your memory card. I had the same problem before and that fixed it .
