Yay or nay?

Who wants to see more pics of my handsome self?

Who thinks this is a bad idea?

Who has suggestions of what would be a good purchase?

Who could care less?

Post your thoughts about this! Rar!

I'm also considering the same thing. But a webcam instead, I've had bad experiences with digital cameras.

Yeah, get the camera. Just get one that has the option of high resolution pictures so if you happen to come off as patrically stunning you can make a decent photo out of it later.

Go for the webcam.

The digial cameras are expensive, and they break easy.

I have a Kodak DVC323 Digital Video Camera. It takes pretty nice pictures, and has lasted me a good 2, almost 3 years now and cost me about $100 to buy initially. They don't make this one anymore, but I know Woody got a smilar one off eBay for about $40..

Stay away from Logitech (not a personal bad expereince with them, but Woody did)

Webcams are fun. I treasure mine because it allows me to see the people that I love that are so far away that I don't get to see them everyday.. And this way I can!

Digital cameras kick ass if you've got a use for one that takes advantage of their strengths. Otherwise they're really expensive toys.

The only down side to the things (from using one at work alot back in the day) is that they are battery WHORES.

The one my boss bought was really bad. Dont know what kind it was, but that junky would go through a pack of batteries a day.

We had to take alot of inventory pictures etc. Id suggest, if you do get one, get some sorta rechargable battery thingy.

Kodak DX3500
Kodak DX3600

Both are really nice straight forward cameras.
Very easy to use, easy interface, almost take pictures for you. Have decent digital resolution. 35 has 2.2 megapixel...3600 is a bit better.

3600 is a bit more money, but has a bit more bells and whistles, and some extra features. It also has optical zoom besides digital zoom. Bajah, it's a camera..even in a digital
optical zoom is everything, Digital zoom just enlarges the picture..optical is what lets you hone in close. 35 hundred doesn't have optical zoom, but does allow you to get attachments to your lenses. Big plus of this camera..it's not a battery whore. It uses lithium batteries or a nickel-MH rechargeble. I bought mine nearly 60 days ago and am still using the original lithium batteries. And I use it ALOT. It has a usb port to dl your pictures in to the comp..also you can buy a dock that will plug into your comp that will dl the pics..and recharge your camera batteries as well, 80 dollars extra though. it comes with 8 or 12 mb of internal memory, forget which one. And it has expandable memory if you get one of the memory cards.

They run between 350-400 dollars.

Hope this helps.

The Apitek Pencam (www.aiptek.com) seems to be a nice 'hybrid' camera. Plus it's small enough to be easily hidden should the need for covert image recovery be needed.

If you plan on using it a lot, get one with IBM mini-hard drive capability. I have a real nice Canon which holds 270 high quality high resolution pictures.

I use lithium batteries, made especially for hard use, like digital cameras

I got an Intel Pocket PC camera; only $140. Can be used as a webcam or a digital camera, but it doesn't do a terribly great job on either.

When used as a camera, the picture is fuzzy, and it won't take pictures at all if I move the focus ring off the setting for autofocus. When it's hooked up to my PC I can though, and take sharp pictures... well, sharper than they do as a camera...

Still, it serves my limited purposes, but if you want clear pictures, buy something else.

Get the one from sony that writes to CD's RIGHT INSIDE THE CAMERA!!

Holds something like 400 pictures at 1280x1024 res, and then you can just pop the CD into a standard CD drive!

I have a Kodak DC210+ Digital Camera which I love. (Bet it's horribly outdate now though).

And a Kodak DVC 325 Web Cam... which I also love.

And Peach is right... I had a Logitech WebCam for about two weeks and it sucked so much ass I went online and found a Kodak as close to Peach's as possible.

The logitech was just really bad quality with little in the way of decent controls. Yeah it's got a lot of little buttons in the app... but over all it's a waste of money. I gave it to my stepson... otherwise I would have thrown it away.
