I have to go with the White Star here. Much faster and more manuverable. Weapons more on scale with a destroyer class vessel instead of a corvet.

Hmm on that hand how about the White Star Vs. The Defiant.

I never liked the Defiant. Federation got ahold of a Romulan cloaking device at a time right when they were becoming obsolete anyway. And the ship was grossly overpowered for its spaceframe (something cited in DS9 early on...thank god Chief O'brian could fix it), plus it flew in the face of everything the Federation and Starfleet stood for (it was a warship, plain and simple. If it were green it could've been an ugly Klingon ship). Yet everyone and their grandmother thought it was a badass little piece of technology.

Give me the Enterprise D over the Defiant any day. Exploration and science with the firepower to stand up for yourself is where it's at. Anyone who gets their jollies on ships like the Defiant needs to get out of the Federation.

Unfortunately, the Defiant was a necessary piece of machinery. Given that the Federation was nearly destroyed by one Borg Cube and the the Dominion gace the entire Alpha Quadrant a run for its money, I'd say a few-hundred Defiant-class ships are in order.

In case the Borg decide to send 2 ships their way.

Enterprise E, baybay. Smaller crew (don't bring your family...just Federation personnel, por favor), better firepower (Defiant-esque firepower), plus it's an exploration vessel.

Actually, despite the fact I think the white star is a DEAD SECKSI PIECE OF HARDWARE, I would have to go with the enterprise on this one.

Enterprise: Shielding, hellaciously thick armor (narf, them tech manuals are fun reads ^_^), lots of phasers, and animatter warhead torpedoes. All fired by by computer, so just push a button and stuff dies.

White Star: No shields. Nice and fast would make it last a while, at least until Riker says 'Fire a full spread' :P

Narf.

Thats why the White Star would win.
It's an Minbari ship after all, and ALL Minbari ships have a device called 'jammer', preventing any lock ons by enemy targeting computers.
(This was one of the main reasons earth was defeated so quickly by the Minbari in the EA/Minbari war.)

So unless Worf has learned a few new tricks with the manual targeting of the E/d the Enterprise is toast.

Disclaimer: I do NOT say that Bab5 is better than ST, I like both equally.

Well... I doubt the Enterprise would only have sensors dependent upon active sensor input, I am sure they would have some sort of visual tracking software

But does it really matter? A McKenna class supercruiser would wax them both

Winner: Vorlons

The Borg vs. the Shadows

Winner: Draw

White Star vs. NX-01 Enterprise

"Ivanova, what the hell was that?!"
"A target, apparently."

Winner: White Star

Whitestar...

As for shielding, don't forget the Whitestar was a hybrid ship. Constucted using Minbari and Vorlon technology. Vorlon's were millions of years ahead of anything the star trek universe had short of Q and even the younger races of B5 had, including the minbari. The ships were organic and could absorb great deals of damage and repair themselves. I believe it was stated the whitestar could repeair itself up to 80 percent of it's damage. The biggest concern was if was under mass amounts of firepower of equiv. damage, then it was a matter of the damage vs. regeneration ratio. ie...if the mass amounts of damage were being wracked up greater then the regen capability.

b5 vs startrek? Give me a break
The main cannon on a b5 ship is a beam weapon, that would overload and go right through the sheilds of any startrek ship.

By the way, White Star. Nearly invulnerable, far more maneuverable, and adaptable to the technology being used against it.

Oh jeez, I didn't even think about that!

So yeah, as long as Data was on board, the win would likely go to Enterprise.

[EDIT] Addendum for Gydyon! White Stars are tough little birds, but certainly not invulnerable. Clarke's advanced Destroyer fleet took the White Stars to task near the end of the fourth season.
And most weapons in ST tech are beam weapons, too
