Yea...you knew someone was going to do this eventually. Though he doesnt say, I wonder what his reserve is

50? Like EQ before Kunark?

Yep.

Hopefully they dont. I'd hate to see mythic start wasting resources on something as trivial as this, and instead focus on making the game better

Oh no, I'm not saying they will, I was just making an observant point

Yeah, but some people have money and dont spend it on an account like that. They have money (working all day) and time (To play the game after work)
Of course, some people *coughMEcough* Dont have a job or anything, and have too much time. But Id never, EVER, sell an account

I dont think I would either, just dont like the idea of someone else I dont know playing my characters. Maybe if I was hurting for money at the time I would consider it...
I've sold individual items before (ultima online castle / tower). But that was only because it payed for all of my Christmas presents and then some a couple years back

hehe if someone was willing to pay me that much for items...heh.
But yeah. IF I ever quit a game and gave ANYONE my account, it would be someone I knew well. Likely a guildmate, if I ever even got rid of it.
sheesh i tinks soem pepal haevs too much money too spend on getting CRUSHNSMASH the LEVAL 485 TROLL BEZNERKER OF EBAY!@
He says: First person to get this message in DAoC.
Wrong! Check the Camelot Herald. Enkiwa, was the first to 50. He plays on Lancelot. I know him.
The best part is, this guy lists himself as a 50 Berserker on Bors. I'm willing to bet, if he isnt BSing, then it wouldnt be to hard for Mythic to find the guy and drop his account. Would be a shame if someone sent this to them.
Opps...

I highly doubt Mythic will just up and ban the account, since they really havent spoken up much on the issue of ebaying stuff.
Hopefully they will leave it alone.

Hmm, guess you missed that. They did, in fact, say things about Ebay. They do not approve. This came up early in the release of DAoC and I do believe they banned about ten accounts. I'll have to go search on the vault for you when I get home, but I bet I can still find the posts by Sanya on it. [ 12-10-2001: Message edited by: Ferrel ]

2. Selling of Accounts
a. While Mythic Entertainment does not condone the selling of DAoC accounts in any way, we will also not attempt to discourage it.
b. We will not help to resolve, in any way, problems that arise from the selling or trading of accounts.
c. As stated in the Account Security Policy (below), all account security is the sole responsibility of the customer. We will not help to resolve, or be held in any way responsible for account security breaches or the problems that may occur from them, except as noted in the Account Security Policy.

So, dont ebay things folks!

And yes, only uou cant lose your levels .

Welcome to America. Maybe I'm mistaken, but aren't all these games designed for people with the most disposable incomes?
It's just a game. I don't care if someone plays 24/7 to level a character and gain items just to sell it off on EBay. More power to'em. Love the free-enterprise system. They paid the money for the game, they put in the time to level. Far as I'm concerned they can do whatever the hell they want with it. It's their property.
If the person is a complete moron, and gets everyone killed around them. Natural selection will take care of that. People will shun and avoid that person. Not group or associate with'em. Those people will tell their threads. Other people will learn on their own. End result is the same.
As for the ongoing whine about how they don't know their class/level/power because they didn't level and learn. Again, so what? I don't buy the argument that someone who starts playing with a higher level character is a complete moron. Chances are they will get the hang of their level/class whatever.
