I died yesterday in EQ, and logged off after I got back to my bind. Now EQ is not working for me, it won't let me log into any server. My question is, how long till a lvl 5 corpse rots? If it rots I'm not going to be happy, I had some nice stuff. I know other people can't loot my corpse, so having some one in the guild pick it up is out of the question, because I'm not going to hand out my user name and password to them..... Will it rot, and how long till it rots?

sorry, if you would have just dinged to 6 you would have been all right for sure. I *think* lvl 5 and below corpses rot after 30 minutes, no matter on line or off. If you're 6+ they last 1 day online or 1 week offline, but if you stay off 2 days it counts for 2/7 of your time.

24 hours for a corpse under level 6 when you're offline.
Couple of minutes(60?) when you're online.

UGH! That sucks. I had been halfway twincked by my guild. I had a good sword and shield, and a few other things.... I doubt that they will be happy with me for having lost the items. Heh......

And also, never use the good twink gear until six. Leave the SMRs and Ykeshas in the bank, it won't do you any more good than a FBR or fine steel sword anyway.

If you don't want to lose your stuff give your account data (name&pw) to a friend you trust so that he can recover your corpse.

Change your password after that.

I thought under level 6 was 30 RL minutes on or offline. Either way, it is gone.

Sometimes you just have to log with unlooted corpses. LDs and it being past 3 or 4am tends to make you.

Just never give anything worth more then bronze armor to a character under level 6.

The time under 6 is 30 minutes online time, and/or (if the same scaleing is used as post-6) 3.5 hours offline.

Past 6 is is 24 hours online and/or 7 days offline.

Note the and/or. Each minute online counts as 7 minutes offline on the corpse timer. Online time counts being on -any- character on -any- server on the same account.

And you can still be free, If time will set you free
And going higher than the mountain tops
And go high like the wind don't stop...

I don't think those numbers are quite accurate...

...It took me just over an hour once to find my corpse when I was level 4.

Ykeshas are actually pretty crappy weapons. They used to be good before Kunark.
