For Windows 95 users: Sorry, **** out of luck, DirectX 8 won't run on Win95. Get a better system already!
For Windows 98/2000/Me users: Go here and download DirectX 8, and follow the installation instructions. Note that there's different downloads for Win 2000 than for 98 or Me, make sure you download the right one.
For Windows XP users: Don't have to do anything, XP already comes with DirectX 8 loaded.
Just thought I'd remind you. You can do this during the 20 hours of EQ server downtime between Monday afternoon and Tuesday morning. (All EQ servers will be down from 12noon PST Monday the 3rd to 8am PST Tuesday the 4th to load everything necessary to run Shadows of Luclin.) [ 11-28-2001: Message edited by: Troodon ]

DirectX 8.1 is out now, too, no more 8.0a I just nabbed it.
Yep, 8.1 is basically 8.0 with the bugs ironed out. The link I gave goes to where you can download 8.1, didn't think it was necessary to put the ".1" in my post. EQ will run under 8.0, but obviously you're better off getting 8.1. [ 11-28-2001: Message edited by: Troodon ]
What is the purpose of the red line? I am confused.

It keeps sigs from growing so large that they start eating humans and plotting to take over the board, then the Universe. Think Little Shop of Horrors.
It was in Koska's sig too, but I refreshed the page and it was gone.
I thought it may have had some other significance.

Fix your sig.
I never put a red line in there, to my knowledge. I checked my sig, don't see anything in there calling for a red line. It's just always been there, I assumed it was something automatic. If you have some idea on how to get rid of it, I'd be glad to. It bothers me too, but I don't know how to get rid of it. [ 11-29-2001: Message edited by: Troodon ]

It means your signature is larger than the allowed amount. use the [ small ] tags to shrink your text, as Lashanna said.
Or just don't make it so long
Thinking about your posts

It's not that long, I've seen people with longer sigs than mine. And if it's bigger than allowed, whi is it still allowed anyway? Doesn't make sense. If they want to make a sig size limit, why don't they just cut it off when you exceed it? And if mine is past the limit, the limit should be raised, I don't think mine is anywhere near excessively long.
But I made it smaller, see if that helps.
