I saw it!

I saw Harry Potter!

I loved it!

It was a fantastic movie. It was exactly like the book, and the characters were right on. Harry was exactly how he needed to be, and Hermione just as know-it-all, and Ron was hilarious.

I'm really hoping they intend to do the rest. I hope the same company does them, too. Everything was right on.

I haven't read the books, but I'll see the movie anyway.
I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piƱa coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?

I don't agree that you won't understand it unless you've read the book. I think they showed the right amount of scenes they needed to understand what was going on. I went with someone that had never read them, and he had no trouble keeping up with the story.

Yeah, it was surprisingly entertaining. My brother bugged me for 2 days straight to take him, so i did. He hardly had to explain any of it to me.

I didn't think it would be great, but I was suprised. Quidditch was even pretty cool. Only thing I really didn't like was the actor who played Draco...don't know why, either.

Draco's a twit in the book and he was a twit in the movie

I saw it on Saturday. Amazing. utterly AMAZING. And my sister, who also went, has never read the books, and only had to have quidditch explained to her afterwords, because the was in the potty during the explanation.

I agree with the not-quite unspeakable evil. Go. See it.

Also, I saw an article in the newspaper today where the movie company (can't remember what one) stated that they plan to make all seven books into movies.

I too saw that movie opening day and thought that it was great. Ive read all the books though. Read the first one to understand what my nephew was talking about. Loved it then read the rest. They are good books and the movie was great. I personally cannot wait to see the fourth book in movie form. And all actors in major roles have signed contracts to do two more movies except the kids who have only got contracts for one more movie. The only reason they did not sign them on for more is In case they grow too fast. I read somewhere that the kid who plays Harry has already put on almost 6" but they still are not considering going with anyone else for the next movie. Just the buzz Ive heard. I might be able to find out more tomorrow (My cousin works for AOL Time Warner. Even though hes just a low man on the totem pole. He does over hear things.)

I saw it too.

Great movie, however I feel they missed out on alot of character development... Except for the Harry vs. Draco thing, they did that well.

The Quiddich match owned so much. It's probably better if you read the book first, though.

And oh yes, I believe they did Hagrid the best of all the characters. Then Herm, then Ron, then Harry. Oh, and wood. He's the bizom

I hope that when they do do the rest (come on, any doubts if it's gonna have a sequal? 91mil the first day. Probably more for the first day of the sequal) they have Tim Burton and Danny Elfman working on it. Great music, and with a name like Tim Burton it would draw in the Film Noir crowd while keeping as a 'children's story' (ala The Nightmare Before Christmas).

*scowls*

It doesn't *need* a name like Tim Burton on it, Vorb

They didn't need a big name to look good, and *be* good, this time.

They put a hella lot from the first book in this movie.

Some things they might have combined, like the midnight duel dialogue and the troll in the bathroom scene, but that worked. It explained everything very well, and to be honest, when he was looking at the mirror at his parents and Dumbledore was talking to him, I got misty eyed. It was sad

Yeah i saw it too and i thought it was really good. Granted they took some liberties for the pure sake of time and simplicity, but all in all i thought that the movie was really cool

Yeah the Quiddich match owned big time... i loved those uniforms with the leather bracer/glove thing... that was cool

O and apparantly one of the main characters (not sure if that means harry, ron, hermione or what) is supposed to die before the end of the series...

They hardly took any liberties at all

They snipped a scene here and there, but that's just cause it wasn't entirely necessary to have it there. Or they combined things, like Snape's confrontation of Quirell and the troll in the bathroom. The first happened when Malfoy challenged Harry to a duel in the book, and then the troll part was later. For simplicity, they combined the two. But it worked out very well.
