Funny, I was going to say Horny was my hero (just beat DK2 last night, watching him smash those stone knights into gravel is always a treat) but now I'll have to come up with something more original.

Hrm.. Not that i'd mind being enslaved, but how large do you normally make your torture chambers? 
Seriously though, My hero would have to be my father. He was in the navy for gawds knows how many years, then takes contractual jobs at nuclear power plants teaching radiation saftey and whatnot.
Then he gets lung cancer from exposure to asbestos, and the rest is history. 
I wish I could be around the dinner table with him again, discussing quantum theory and non-linear time.
Kevin Smith (you might know him as Silent Bob in the View Askew movies), the dude is just so mellow and cool. Plus he writes for comics. Granted i doubt i could ever do what he does he is still a great guy.
And second is my Dad -> though he really is a cold guy (personality wise) i have to give him a lot of credit. He just went through 2 major surgeries to remove tumors from his head and kidney) and is going through radiation therapy for a tumor deep in his brain, but he is remaining strong and is not going to lay down and die.
