FF:TSW was a great movie, if you are either a diehard FF fan (me) or have no clue as to what it is. Anyone inbetween probably wouldn't like it.

1. FF7 is the best, no arguement there.
2. FF:TSW was okay, but there was no magic, and more importantly, no chocobos.

Ditto, me and my brother loved it, my dad enjoyed it, and my mom had no clue what was going on and hated it when we went as a family to see it.

No magic?! Not even summons?! Was gonna wait for it to come out on video but I think I might just skip it altogether...
The trouble is that we have a bad habit, encouraged by pedants and sophisticates, of considering happiness as something rather stupid. Only pain is intellectual, only evil interesting. This is the treason of the artist: a refusal to admit the banality of evil and the terrible boredom of pain. - Ursula K. LeGuin ~ The Ones Who Walk Away From Omelas

Nope. Total Sci-Fi.

If you watch it hoping to see a Final Fantasy game made into a movie, you won't enjoy it.

If you watch it just to see an interesting Sci-Fi with a strange touch of metaphysics, you will like it.

If you watch it because your cable company's CEO has flipped and has started showing Barney on all channels, then I pitty you.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Correct me if I'm wrong but I did notice some parallels to some of the FF games and in the movie. E.G. Gaia theory, Planet Dieing, "Lifestream", Meteor striking the Earth, Supporting character dieing, etc.

I saw a lot of parallels myself, but mostly toward the later games

Of course there still was the "starts with something really really small and ends up being something majorly important" idea that all FF games have

Oh yah. That's what makes it a "Final Fantasy" movie, instead of just another Sci-Fi.

It's missing alot of the game elements, but it has alot of the plot elements, especally from FF7.
