Now the robots actualy look difrent, i rember back in the day when all the bots were wedges( albiet some mad nice wedges liek atomic wedgie) with a few eceptions like tentamusho, salad, and the one with the pizza spinner, now they all ( or most anyway) have their own original designs.

I have a fealing im gonna be watching this show alot agian

Battle Bots=Geek Wrestling

I love watching a $2000 bot own a $40000 bot. That show is worse then Cops for making me watch it. When are they gonna but those things on DVD?

I allready built my own, it just doesnt ove, or have wepons, or way more than a pound, but its still a robot damnit

I like the concept, but I hate the presentation.
I don't know how to be sexy. If I catch a girl looking at me and our eyes lock, I panic and open mine wider. Then I lick my lips and rub my genitals. And mouth the words "You're dead."

I don't know why, but everytime my eyes flick across the title of this thread, I have to double take because I could swear it said:

Don't know what channel its on (16 here), usually on every week. The bots not only have to fight eachother but also have to go through a special arena where they get points for doing things like knocking down walls or activating switches while other (non contestant) bots try to stop them. They also have flamethrowers and real chainsaws unlike the comedy central show.

Yeah robot wars is pretty good. If anyone ever watch Red Dwarf it has the dude with the dreads in the back of his head.
Anyway the arena itself is cool, but the bots that i have seen so far are really primitive (with wedge or ram) with a few exceptions. There was an international battle that was really cool because the French robot was actually attacking the house bots and was kicking their asses.

Also the bots in robot wars are huge compared to battle bots. Most robots are over a meter in height.

I like Robot Wars alot more, its great stuff. There was another one they were doing, forget what it was called, but they had teams that worked together to move beach balls over a bunch of obsticals. That one was pretty cool too.

I'm just a one man team - I hit up friends and relatives for parts.. so far I haven't quite gotten it to work yet. Compressed air is a *bitch*. heh.

I would want to make a battlebot - I already have a concept inside my head - 2 hammers come from the sides and capture the enemy head on, wihle a third pounds from above. And for those pesky wedge designs, I would have 2 pneumatic spikes (I think I spelled it right) to manuever em over the kill saws.

If i could make my own bot it would be alot like Mauler (or is it Minion- the one that spins weights around) except that it would have 4 metal balls (perhaps spike) tethered to the bot with about 4 inches of chain (essential making 4 maces) as it spins around.

I would call it like Knightmare or something like that.

Then i would eat lots of oreos

Heh, that was my Physic's prof's idea of a perfect project, we joined up with the other science departments and a technical college a few miles away and worked on our own battlebots and then we had a tournament between the twenty groups that had made the 'bots. Ours won because it was based upon a design that I had remembered from an old battlebots episode, the bot that was essentially a spinning dome with bits and pieces of metal attached to it that absolutely destroyed the competition. This one science techie that was in our group managed to get the friction co-efficient down to .000187, and the RPMs to something like 2450. Goes without saying that most of the other bots didn't do that well, but there were some impressive ones, some group managed to hook up a signal interference device which made it really hard to control our own bot.

If I built a robot, it would follow the Kilroy/Kettle Kin design from SoM. Except mine will have l33t tank treads instead of a unicycle.

Hmm I have 2 bot designs in my filing cabinet, 1's being worked on right now.

Fear, for it will be controlled by a laptop and a joystick.

Fear, for it might actually be able to operate without a person controlling it.

Now if only I could cram all the hardware needed for that + some offensive weaponry in a nice sized package instead of the 4x6 feet it takes now I'll be pleased.
