** Class Changes **
We have been receiving large volumes of petitions lately stating how players feel that "Rangers Suck". While we do not agree with this assessment we have decided to affect the following changes to correct this perceived imbalance.
-Rangers will now have the ability to backstab like a Rogue. The location of the ranger with respect to the target will have will not affect this ability's activation. This means that the ranger can be behind the target, in front of the target, or on the other side of the zone and this ability will still function. This ability works the same as a Rogue's backstab in all other respects.-All Ranger only armor and weapons will now have double their previous AC rating and damage rating respectively. At the same time the delay of all Ranger weapons will be halved.
-Rangers now have the Monks "Feign Death" ability. At the time that the Ranger uses this ability the Ranger will be completely removed from a mobs hate list and will stay removed from the hate list for a period no less then 10 minutes regardless of the actions of the Ranger taken during this time.
-Rangers will now have the ability to cast any spell in the game at any level. We feel that this is an adequate compensation for the ability and usefulness of Ranger spells in the past. Due to the fact that Rangers now have the possibility to cast any spell these spells will be provided to the Ranger upon the creation of the character already arranged. Any Ranger currently in the game will automatically receive these spells the next time they zone.
-Due to the fact that rangers now have access to such spells as "Ice Comet" at level one it was determined that the Rangers current mana supplies where insufficient. We have therefore decided to take the current formula for calculating a characters mana supply and for rangers multiply it by one thousand. The Ranger's mana regeneration ability will be multiplied by the same amount.
-The Ranger's defense and attack cap per level will now be doubled as will the end cap on these skills.
-Rangers will now have a quadruple attack to balance out the Warrior's triple attack.
-All Rangers' faction will now be raised to "Ally" with all factions and Rangers will no longer be affected by faction hits.
-Rangers will now be able to use any item in the game. Any charged items will have infinite charges in the hands of the Ranger.
We hope these changes will fix the perceived problems in the Ranger class.

The spell Mesmerize has been modified to act as a Damage Shield in addition to its current effects. Any monster that isn't taunted at least twice before breaking the mez will inflick 32,000 points of direct damage on the first person to attack it. Please note this is on a per-monster basis and area effect damage spells may possibly obliterate some casters right down to their account. Damage beyond 100,000 points will incur a charge to your account and may result in a lien on your house or having your car repossessed by Vinny "da Fish" Capazzoli in a late-night sting.Shaman pets will now cast a limited list of spells. Hailing a shaman pet and asking for a SoW will cause the pet to cast an unresistable 72 minute duration Snare spell on you instead.
Rumors that Necromancers now have a teleport spell are confirmed as being true. The "Gravedigger" line of spells will transport the necromancer to such exotic locations as: The Hall of Truth in North Freeport, the Halas warrior guild, Temple of Veeshan, and about 3 feet to Tunare's left in Plane of Growth. We are sure you shall find these spells useful and challenging.
Actually using the spell Call of Hero was an exploit that we had not anticipated. This will be fixed in the next patch.
Speaking the words, "On me" and then running all over the place so that the warriors and other taunters in the group can't find you, has resulted in mountains of petitions for giving warriors the ability to cast Root on other group members. We have come to agree it fits with the skills every warrior should have and so this will be fixed in the next patch.
Due to excessive amount of meditation time, we have found clerics to be out of balance with other classes as far as looting. Modifying the meditation time, however, would create an even larger imbalance. To compensate clerics, therefore, each heal cast on a group member will result in a set amount of cash, gems, or items being transferred directly to the cleric's inventory. If you do not have sufficient cash or items of value, each heal will incur a transfer of one orange bubble of exp from you to the cleric. We call it, "Paying for your sins."
An examination of server populations has shown an excess supply of druids. Therefore, we are turning druids into a PvP class on all blue servers with the next patch. Happy hunting.
To aid paladins in the post-50th levels and on raids, we will be giving them a new super-powerful taunt discipline. When activated "Scream like a girl" will force mobs to do everything in their power to "just make it shut up!"

[qb]The rampaging groups of the holy trinity (war/enc/clr) have in our opinion has shown far too much ease in knocking out the uber boss mobs in this game. Instead of boosting stats & using inovative enhancements on the less fortunate (gotta be brain dead to play 'em anyway) classes we will be nerfing the reputation of the holy trinity to get rid of class envy for starters.
Beggars will be muzzled for a period not less then an hour (real time) and given stern in-game lectures from their respective class guild NPC's about how to actually hunt and strive towards in-game rewards and/or experience. On subsequent violations of this rule no matter what the beggar types in /say/tell/ooc/shout/auction will read, "Alms for the poor, alms for the poor.

** Spell Changes **
- Added a new series of enchanter spells (Run I-IV). These spells should be quite useful for overly heroic party members.- Changed Magician epic effect (Manifest Elements) to Cadeau of Flame to put it more in line with other magician-specific items and other caster epic effects.
- All Necromancer pets now cost a peridot.
- All kunark and velious items with beneficial spells have had their casting times tripled. It seems as if there were situations in which using these items were actually preferable to casting the spell. With the new cast times, this should no longer be a problem.
** Miscellaneous Updates **- The server selection screen no longer displays server names. If you have trouble finding your server, send an email to techsupp@everqeust.com or ask a GM in chat.
- We would like to encourage players to visit underused zones. Keep an eye out, a 'GM event' is comming to a lake near you!
- The /duel command has been changed to "plz". To initiate a duel, simply include this abbreviation in a sentance.

******************************************************************************************************Patch Update**
- It has become apparent that the emergency patch we have just implemented to fix the emergency exploit fix which fixed an exploit introduced in the patch which repaired the crashing to desktop bug that started to occur after the scheduled patch that was meant to fix the patch from the week before has not worked according to plan. There will be an emergency patch to fix the patch of the patch distributed via a Verant employee with a floppy disk knocking on your door in the next few weeks. Please make sure all your address details on your Station account are correct and please wait patiently.
**Spell Changes**
- We have noticed that Wizards and Druids have not been maxing out their Defense score of late, so we have moved a few of the port destinations closer to aggro mobs to help these classes in this endeavour.
- Enchanters will now get a new line of spells to complement their current line of Illusion spells. This new line is called Illusion : Class, and will enable the Enchanter to change into any class allowed by the current Race illusion that he/she is currently under. This will also give the Enchanter all class abilities, spell lines and allowable item usage of that class.
- Charm spells will now work to full effect on all PvP servers. Casters will also now be able to charm or summon multiple pets, as mana allows and they will now be persistent across zone lines.
**Miscellaneous Changes**- To move closer to the spirit of the Everquest world, we are removing the ability for Wizards to group with other classes for XP. Since most Wizards above level 20 can't get an XP group anyway, we believe that this wont be a major change for them.
- We have setup buffing and healing booths in most major cities in Norrath. To use, just enter the booth, insert a platinum piece into the slot and use the correct command. The commands are, SoW plz, Crack plz and Heal plz.
- We have added a few new recipies for use in Alchemy which we will let you all try to work out by trial and error. After this change, it is advisable for all players to make sure that they are asking for the Clarity or Quickness spells correctly, as you may get a different response from your local Shaman Alchemist.
- Due to a Norrath-wide downturn in the economy, merchants will now consider whether to buy your items from you. Don't be surprised if your local blacksmith wont buy your stack of Bone Chips anymore.
- Further to the last item, the banker will now charge account keeping fees in the order of 10% of your total balance per month. Also, more than 10 transactions each month will attract a 5pp fee for each transaction after the 10th.
- Mobs that do not have discernable pockets will now not drop coins or other small loot items.
- We have created an expansion to that popular game Gems! The new expansion will include new icons, different drop rates for the gems and now a multiplayer level that must be played by 20+ people at a time to be effective. Some gems will be invisible and others will now resist all efforts to put them in the right column. This should keep the game playable for years to come.

[qb]It has been rescently discovered that there is a merchant in Grob selling fletching supplies which means that any troll with a fletching kit in his/her possession might be capable of doing tradeskills. This is conflicting with "The Vision" of trolls having no useful skills other than bashing so this merchant will soon be removed.
Also, some players of evil races have been taking advantage of certain "exploits" - namely various quests to build faction - which have allowed them to play with the same degree of convienence as light races with as little as 100 hours of faction work. To solve this, orc/gnoll/goblin belts, scalps and ears will have thier drop rates reduced to 1/100th of current drop rates and all of these items will also be given LORE NO-DROP tags. Finally, in the area of tradeskills, it's been discovered that some players have been able to make money off of some pre-249 skill items - the cost of making these items will now be quintupled, the availability of raw materials will also be reduced by a factor of 100, foraged only components that require a 200 forage skill will be added to the Sleeper's Tomb but only be available while he's awake and the new recipes will be placed on a 100th level mob with a 1 year spawn cycle and a 1% chance of dropping them - this mob and these recipe instructions should be included in a patch sometime after the release of the next new expansion after SoL.

[qb]**Patch Message**
We brought down the server's earlier today to fix some spelling errors within the game instead of using the patch to fix eploits, bugs, and broken quests within the game. We feel that spelling errors within the game should take priority over current bugs in the game.**Miscellaneous Changes**
Due to the recent, amazing ammount of "sow plz" /tell's, we have decided to add pigs and boars into the game. We feel that this will help all the players asking for "sow plz" in finding what they are seeking.
**Zone Changes**
Greater Faydark has been hit by the plague of Bertoxxolous. If you are exposed to the plague for more than 5 minutes, you will die and lose 3 weeks worth of experience! We feel that this will help balance out the camping issue.
**Spell Changes**
Druids have had their pet spell replaced by a spell called,"Summon Bag of Confetti". We feel that since the druid pet did nothing in the way of combat, but was only there for looks, that the Bag of Confetti will be the equivelant of the old druid pet.
Due to a recent balancing issue, Monks can cast "Discintegrate", Warriors can cast "Complete Healing", and Rogues get an attack called "Coup de Grace" which will instantly kill your opponent if he is sitting down and facing the other direction.
All caster specific classes have been given the legendary 'dunce cap' so when they travel to a dungeon such as Sleeper's Tomb, their usefulness is told by the hat which they wear.
**Skill Changes**
All caster specific skills have been removed from the game in the name of balancing. All other classes shall have access to every skill in the game in order to balance out the system.

[qb]Patch Message
Druids are still underpowered and don't conform to the Vision(tm).Druids will now be able to cast clarity and have access to Magician pets. From here on out any new spell or melee ability will be given to druids.
This should make up for all the downtime associated with quad kiting.
All other classes will be required to kneel at the sight of a druid.
Verant apologizes to all druids for the inconveniance of down time and will add 2 levels to all druids the next time they log on. Level 59 and 60 druids will receive the necro spell harmshield, with the duration removed as well the the inability to fight while under this spell.
There will be a anti-begging and spamming mob implemented game wide. This mob will take the form of the nearest uber beast and will subject the offender to humiliating punishments. On the third offense, Auric will spawn and lock the character, rendering him unable to move, log off or even able to leave his computer for a period of 24 RL hours.
We feel that this may not be a fitting enough punishment and is subject to alteration.

[qbIn accordance with Verants Vision, all servers are now required Grouping. Please read the revised EULA. Anyone found soloing will incur a negative experience penalty and may have their account banned. In addition Group hugs are now required at 10 minute ingame time intervals.Because of the competative nature of the MMRPG, Servers will no longer display The server name. Instead you will see simply SERVER. We are still a business and do not want to give the competition information they do not need to have.
In accordance with the negative feedback recieved about the TLC, a new loot system has been implimented; NLFY (No Loot For You). If you do not recieve experience from a MoB, you will be able to loot the corpse. However the items will be NO DROP. We hope this helps in your roleplaying experience.

**Emergency Patch Update**Due to the fact that the original programmer that created the Bard class has left the company, and the fact that the code he left behind is impossible to comprehend we are removing the Bard class effective immediately.
All Bards will be give then option of switching to one of the following classes on their next log in: Ranger, Paladin, or Necromancer (note: the Necromancer option is only available to 60th level bards in N Tov capable guilds).
All items and spells will be wiped from the character and replace with a level appropriate 'leg-up' kit for the class chosen.
