They tried to hijack one more plane.
And we caught those motherfuckers red-handed.

At least eight people were arrested Thursday at JFK and LaGuardia airports for carrying fake documentation, including one man posing as a pilot, and for immigration issues. Four of the suspects had been at one of the airports the day of the terrorist attacks but fled when challenged about identification at the ticket counter. They are being questioned by FBI agents on the joint terrorism task force.

One U.S. official told CNN, "Certainly this is being looked at -- that a hijacking was thwarted. There is concern in our office that this may have been another attempt"

Yeah. That's right. They sent us a big "Fuck you". Far as I'm concerned they're the ones staring into the abyss. And we're staring right back at them with a can o' whup ass.

Who's more the monster? The terrorist who kills innocents, or the innocent who tolerates the terrorist?
And you can quote me on that one.

And would you mind pointing out to me where I said they should be tolerated?
Make no mistake about it. Whoever is responsible for this should die. If for no other reason than to insure that it does not happen again.
But torture? Brutal, sadistic torture? Not bothering to find out thier guild first? How does that make us any better than they are? Isn't that the sort of thing the United States has allways stood against?
Our forfather's blood was not shed on the soil of Gettysburg and Normandy to see our nation become the monster we despised.
I know emotions are running high. That nerves are on edge. That there is a bloodlust within us. But nothing excuses brutality. Nothing. When you strike, you strike with the cold, hard anger of rightousness. Not rage.

Just a little warning, quote accurately.

Who says yours is accurate and his isn't?
There is no way to really 'quote accurately'. Quotes get mangled over time.

Oh, and he was right. Some of the notions going around almost make me sick to be an American. People aparently like the ideals our country was founded on only when it suits them.
America has always been the very best at trying to put a pretty face on war. There is a faction in this country that seems to get their panties in a wad over the uglies in life.
Lets get a clue for just a moment please. War is brutal. It was not meant to be pretty or clean. I don't really give a damn about what ideals these "slayers of secretaries" have - it was the fact that the U.S. has historically worn lace handcuffs when fighting a war that gave these fuckers the balls to pull it off.
They've had a safe haven in Afghanistan, and the US would NEVER bomb a country that didnt take part in the attack... or would they?
There is no point at all in dropping the hammer unless it rings loud hard and instills complete terror in the hearts of those abiding helping hiding and consorting with theses fanatics. Otherwise, a new tomorrow will bring a new breed of terrorism.
The point of this war (and yes this is war) is not so much for vindication, but more like pre-emptive medicine. Only when the repercutions of terrorism are so heinous that old crusty war veterans begin to drool and quiver at the thought of it will everyone be free of these cowardly knives in the back.
And why even torture them? Just excecute them. The United States has all but officially declared war. They were soldiers dressed in plain clothes caught in a war zone. According to the Geneva convetion, they are spies. Spies are subject to instant excecutions.

All right. You say we are at war? Perhaps we are.
However, the state of war does not give us the right to torture prisoners of said. Hell, we don't even know for sure if these guys had anything to do with the attack whatsoever.
But even if they do, torture is inexcusable. There is the small matter of the Geneva Convention.
quote:
Article 13Prisoners of war must at all times be humanely treated. Any unlawful act or omission by the Detaining Power causing death or seriously endangering the health of a prisoner of war in its custody is prohibited, and will be regarded as a serious breach of the present Convention. In particular, no prisoner of war may be subjected to physical mutilation or to medical or scientific experiments of any kind which are not justified by the medical, dental or hospital treatment of the prisoner concerned and carried out in his interest.
Likewise, prisoners of war must at all times be protected, particularly against acts of violence or intimidation and against insults and public curiosity.
Measures of reprisal against prisoners of war are prohibited.
There are a long list of nations and regimes who have, over the years, chosen to ignore that article. The Third Reich. The Viet Cong. Iraq. WW2-Era Japan.
Would we really want a place at the dinner table of international atrocity?
