as much as I dislike being in the military, stuff like this hurts me deeply...
and all I can think is "How DARE they! How dare they play god and meddle with thousands of innocent people's lives like this..."
I'll probably be called off leave to go to work, considering my field is intelligence...

There is pretty much nothing that can be done to a 737 flying straight at a target. Even with a surface to air missle, you'd do little more than kill the people inside while he kept coming at you unless you pulled one of those 'the bad guy has an airplane and I have a handgun!' lucky shots from the movies. That's why the Kamikazes were so effective in World War II.
and i am with all you military people out there who read this. even though our government isnt doig all it can with its forign affairs it doesnt mean that innocent people had to die. but to see this kind of terrorism it is sad the towers since they were attacked before should have been on a status of alert to begin with but sad to say we werent ready.
The other things Omaha has that are important (telecomunications) are scattered too much to be a real target for this kind of attack.
