I need to change something in an old post on the AD&D boards, but now I can't. Can you at least disable that there? That's really going to put a dent in our game if we can't go back and change something if future events make what we posted irrelevant.

I have an event that's happened that's made a post I have up irrelevant, and I need to change it to reflect on that. But I can't cause I posted it like yesterday.
And we do a lot of that, having to react to how events happen. Or when someone is reading things wrong and does the wrong thing, then has to go back and correct the post.

I can see the usefulness of being able to go back and edit a post. IE : If you said something really really stupid, you could edit it to say '[edit] Okay, what I said was stupid, I was wrong to post it, my bad. [edit]'.
Soldar : Everyone knows that if you don't own up to what you say, people on here will jump down your throat.

Now go away.
As for D&D, if the reply already caused the events, what's the use changing it?
I posted that my character dropped from a tree and started following another person's character.
Now that person just posted a really big post about how that character was met by another of that person's characters and they're talking. Ending with the fact that he's short on time and not to interrupt cause he'll finish later.
So I wanted to go back and change my character to never have started to follow his character, since he's made it obvious he doesn't want anyone interacting with that character, since he completely ignored the post I had. I was going to have her go where the other characters were and interact there. But now I can't, cause I can't change my post.
Hope that clarifies.

I want to know if it's possible to not have that on the AD&D boards.

YOU, good Sir, sound like someone that never mastered the art of the "GM Bribe".
I have found that food items normally work well for a bribe. Forget the pizza though, everyone else will try that. Go for other things, like an entire canned chicken, or the hard candy letters that go on top of a birthday cake. Food coloring, edible flowers, or kitty treats for their cat also work well.
Bring a smile to their face, and a tad bit of surealism to their brain, and they will be forgiving of minor mistakes that disrupt the flow of the game. As long as it leads to everyone having a good time.
I never took bribes.

And we probably won't see hide or hair of him again till Tuesday. He spends weekends, etc, with his gf.
