It's an ancient art based on deception and cunning. When challenged to a fight, you tell your opponent that you left your gi in the car, and you'll be right back. So you go to your car...
...And turn that little shit into Roadkill.
Very effective.

Ok, took a seminar in Kajukenbo, the guy that was teaching it was insane, showed about 15 different ways to poke through a guys eye, and dislocate the jaw, and rip off ears, and all at the same time...
I know that's not all it is, but doesn't really make me want to be his uki again. [ 09-02-2001: Message edited by: Domodon ]

I'd have to research--I'd choose something with real combat potential, rather than the stylized BS most places teach.

1: most schools in the US have been over westernised. Which means they are useless for anything except a good workout.
2: Most US Karate Schools actually teach a watered down version of TaeKwonDo. And since you already take TKD then whats the point. My suggestions.

Or you may find the right places that still teach the original Okinawan Karate.

Kajukenbo has more combat potential than anything Ive seen. If you want to use a martial art in a fight, this is the one to go.

It's not INCREDIBLY effective, but it will get you through minor brawls, And it just looks so darn cool.
What types are there, and what would you recommend I study if I do get the chance to do it?
