Because I got bored with it. It was always more of the same, over and over, and I just got tired.

Plus, was planning on getting AO, then the comp died.

Bored with it, and forced by my schedule to solo only. Got it Day 1, just quit last fall, though, so it's held my attention longer than any other game.

It was time to move on.

That pretty much sums it up

It was good while it lasted, but there is only so many thousand times I can do the same thing over and over, and 15 bucks a month isn't worth it for MIRC

And just because EQ gets boring at times, I'm not moving on to any other MMORPG... They're all the same.

The most I might change to is Planetside, if it doesn't get as boring as Tribes and EverQuest combined...

I usually play as the human martial arts dude in every game. I don't like the idea of sitting there for 2 months straight to get to level 14 and then not being able to find any groups or monsters to kill. It just got waaaaay boring.

I quit for alot of reasons.
1. It took away my life, I was missing school and etc.
2. It costed alot of money, all 3 expansions+2 years=more than I wanted to spend.
3. It was geting old, same thing over and over again.
4. Verant kept nerfing to much stuff for stuipd reasons.

My account ran out, my parents said I was spending too much time playing and I couldn't get my hands on a credit card. Aaargh!

But 5 months without EQ showed them that my brain hasn't mushified yet, so I got the credit card, then my friend tells me about a debit card I can get a Rite-Aid that is perfect for this. No more account timing out for this EverCrack addict!

Easy answer ... BOREDOM

You know, EQ is like that:

Go to some zone, kill some mobs, level up.

THEN(as a reward):

Go to some slightly different zone to kill some slightly different mobs.

Repeat.

End of story!

It's a little something I like to call K/L/R. (Kill/Loot/Repeat) It makes up the objective for the majority of MMORPG's out there. I would like to know how Norrath "progressed so quickly," when basically everything is Redwall but with humans. (Everyone goes around chopping each other's heads off and nothing else.)

However, I probably would play it if it were free. I wouldn't touch AO with a 50 foot pole if it were free.

WHAT?! I fail to see how Redwall ties into this. You're dirtying a good name! *weeps at the horror*

Steven Steve

Dude, Redwall is the same thing every time. Some bad guy with a terrible reputation and a weird name (<color><disgusting word> <adjective><commonly used object> ) comes by and tries to conquer Redwall or Salamandastron. He uses various tactics that don't ever work because he is always attacking from one point as opposed to closing in with a circular fashion. The harmless creatures at Redwall always end up thwarting these guys' plans by like dropping oatmeal or something on them. And then somebody goes on a quest as Redwall or Salamandastron is being seiged (sp?) and returns just in the knick of time so that they can use the non-magical sword of Martin to drive the bad guy away. I'd bet if these guys would just stop fighting for once, they'd have floating cars or something the next day. Everyone is always slaving away at work that doesn't matter. If there are raw vegetables and fruits in the garden, do you HAVE to get a 10-chef cooking team?

And I wonder where all of these badguys are coming from... Geez aren't they all dead yet?

Haven't. It's raids that keep my interest in the game. Raids, and regular groups.

Normal exping (pickup groups + soloing) is boring as hell.

Regular groups (same group of people that get together and exp together, usually going to some underpopulated/dangerous/mix of them both zone) are fun.

Raiding is fun.

You forgot to mention that EVERY book splits into 3 different groups and switches between them. It's not quite that generalized but pretty close. *shrug* I'm a pretty big fan. Some of the later books are breaking that basic mold, and there are a few Exceptions to that general Forula, Martin the Warrior, Legend of Luke, and Mattimeo all had quite different scenarios. Don;t go dissin' my favorite books, y0. w3rd.

Ive been playing since the beta, and the first day that the game went hit the stores. Ive never had a true 'burn out' all of that time; where I never stoped playing for more then 4 days or so at a time.

RL relationships we're ok, even though I hardly saw the light of day besides work. Exept for fact that my love left me, so what else could I do? I followed her and EQ is only memories in my dreams now.

I dream of becoming the 'main bad guy' of the world, that bad guy who has the power to rule the world and destroy everyone in it.

Then after gaining control of the world, I'll reveal my plans to a young man with spiked hair who forms a party and eventually destroys me.

Remember the most important part of being an evil villain, is revealing your plans to somebody who can stop you with a mysterious past that you happen to be involved in.
