I was shocked when I was walking around the arcade of MGM in Las Vegas and came across a D&D arcade game. I never knew such a thing existed. You could be a warrior, cleric, wizard, theif, dwarf, or elf. It was one of those linear fighting games but the interesting part was that you could make choices that affected which routes you took. It was a pretty fun game. Has anyone heard of this?

I also noticed that it was a sequel (don't remember full title but it was "2" or "part 2"). Has anyone seen the first? Just curious . ..

It and the sequel were released on the Sega Saturn in Japan shortly before it died.

A) The first was "Tower of Doom" it was like "Shadow over Mystara" (which is what you played), except it didn't have the thief or the wizard. Fun game. I have both of them on emulators.

B) Who are you?

Thanks for the information. I'll have to look for those emulators.

Oh, and I'm just a lurker . . . .

I got Tower of Doom from a certain site. I believe Vorago has it...

I got Shadow over Mystara from Kekvit.

So, there's where you can get the stuff. Ask Vorago or Kekvit or consult a magic ball.

Sounds like a Gauntlet remake to me.

It's more of a Final Fight-esque than Gauntlet-esque.

It's a side-scrollin' beat-em-up game. Pretty much just Final Fight with swords and an inventory. But it's reeeeally cool.

Yeah, except with better graphics, a cooler inventory system, more interesting monsters, and no kicking gnomes...wait...I WANNA KICK SOME GNOMES!

I loved D&D, both the arcade games as well as the PnP game. Note: NOT the horrible 3rd Ed version, but the Old Skool D&D. I still have some of the old Hollow World suppliments in mint condition, factory-sealed...
Dear gawd the arcade game rocked! I seriously considered buying it from my arcade when it was moved into storage. *sigh*

Hehe, considered the fact that Golden Axe is about 10 years old it would be very dissapointing if that DnD game would not have the better graphics. =Þ

That dnd one was actually pretty old too because I remember playing it like 6 years ago....For some reason I keep thinking of when you cast Conjure elemental with the wizard, because he kept on yelling it each time you cast it, hmm.

I don't think you've voiced your disapproval of 3rd Ed enough, Kekvit. Why don't you repeat yourself a few dozen times?

She was on topic for the thread. You, I might point out, are not. Please fuck off. Thank you.

I liked the Gnolls in the two side scrolling AD&D games, they looked cool.

Mind you, I tend to like anthro characters anyway.

I believe in the existance of magic, not because I have seen proof of its existance, but because I refuse to live in a world where it does not exist.

Hmm, I remember playing those in an arcade a few years back, wasted 40$ worth of quarters as I recall . Anyhoo, those games were cool, and definitely had replay value for all of the different choices.

EXACTLY!

I was in the Virgin Islands once. I met a girl, we ate lobster, drank piña coladas. At sunset, we made love like sea otters. That was a pretty good day. Why couldn't I get that day over, and over?
