"Item drops are much more generous than regular LOD. Drop rate and drop quality increase with player level, game
difficulty and Act. There's more likelihood of set, rare, and unique items being dropped. (Solo players can now finally
complete Sets and find more Uniques!)"
"Increased stash (10x10), inventory (10x8) and cube (10x10) sizes using the plug-in. (More room to haul more stuff!!
Thanks to Fusman and Zhoulumcrist!)"
"No xp penalty for dying in Nightmare and Hell difficulties. NOT available for Mac users sorry. (That always
ticked me off . . . to no end!!)"
"Maximum gold capacity on character and in stash significantly increased! Storing gold is no longer such a problem a
level 50 character can store 4.0/20.8 million in backpack/stash and a level 100 character 16.0/40.8 million! And a level
500 character 80.0/200.8 million!! And at level 1000, 160.0/400.8 million!!! (Grab all the gold you can, now that you can!!)"
"Characters may now level up to level 5000. Experience on Nightmare and
Hell difficulties have been scaled to ensure that you can play your characters
for a veeeeery looooong time to come. (I AM IMMORTAL!!! Haven't gone tha
far yet . . . but we'll see. Can invest in all the skills on every skill page.)"
" Belts, gloves, boots, rings and amulets are now socket-able. Gloves(2/3
sockets) acts as weapons; belts(2 sockets) acts as armor; boots(2/3 sockets)
acts as shield modifiers; rings (1 socket) acts as weapons and amulets (1 socket)
acts as armor. These items will NOT drop with sockets. Use the cube recipe to add sockets. Gloves and boots can have
up to 3 sockets on Nightmare and Hell difficulties. (Yeah! More sockets!!)"
The guide is 32 pages long, lists More Cube Recipes - over 48000+ recipes now
More Runewords - over 750+ , its simply amazing.

Downloading now.
I can only find the MPQs and documentation of 3.1, not the DLL files.

Anyways Bummey, could this be the answer to the .dll thing?
quote:
For Mac users, Im afraid youre limited to using only the .MPQ file; you cant use the .DLLs. Diablo2 LOD patch version 1.10 is supposed to allow more things to be packed into an .MPQ file and Ill try to incorporate all of the .DLL changes if and when the patch comes out

The .dll files haven't changed since version 3.0.
I knew I should have looked at the forums for the answer...

Willias painfully thought these words up:
It's only for 1.10 too... Dammit, I'm trying to figure this out.
Wtf are the .par files anyways...
.par files are used in conjunction with another tool called FSRaid. Basically, it checks the DLL and MPQ file to make sure they're not corrupt.

so do I need to install Diablo 1.10 to play this?

No. It only works with the current version of 1.09.
Haha, I can't find a single quill rat to kill in ANY of the first 3 zones. This game is rigged
And quill rats in the middle of all of them, and they are hard as heck to hit.

This is just stupid. How are you suppose to kill anything when you start start with any weapon and no potions?
Holy crap, reading is fun!
It's hard at the start, but once you get to level 4, the difficulty starts lowering a bit, though I do not suggest playing this alone. You'll get your ass kicked fast. Anyways, I think Den of Evil had around 10x normal monsters in it... We fought groups of about 30 Fallen and 5 fallen shamen constantly. Infinate reviving = annoying but fun as hell.
BUT FOR NOW, I go to bed, me is mucho sleepy.
1. Turn the chipped gem you have into a flawed gem by using the scroll and the horadric cube, then sell the flawed gem for money to buy keys. Why keys? You can turn the hint scrolls into chipped gems with keys. Put a key and a hint scroll into the horadric cube to get a random chipped gem, put these in equip or sell them for even more money.
2. When hunting, save your stamina when possible and stay away from Spiked Fiends. Spiked fiends can and will kick your ass until level 4. They can do more damage than skeletons and have harsh poison that does tons of damage. They may have less hp than skeletons and may be easier to hit, but you aren't as likely to die to skeletons.
3. Get a shield. Seriously, blocking seems to be a bit messed up in this mod, a simple buckler can save your ass when being chased down by skeletons or being shot at by spiked fiends.
4. Don't use potions unless you are nearly killing a quill rat. If you have to heal, run back to Akara. Potions take too much gold early on, and if you try to keep them on you, you will quickly run out of cash.
5. Buy equip with stats that give + to attack rating. This will help you kill stuff. Quill Rats are not easy to hit, you will have to swing quite a bit to hit them. With skeletons on your back, + to attack rating is A GOOD THING. There is also a rune that adds to AR that Akara sells. Once you get level 3 and can use it, I suggest putting a couple into a slotted weapon and using that.
6. You may have to die. Don't worry, if you keep all of your gold in the vault, you won't lose much cash. Just sprint out and get your body.
7. PLAY WITH FRIENDS. This is extremely hard as a single player mod, friends can help you kill stuff, by distracting skeletons, killing more quill rats, or, by teaming up on one single skeleton, you can get tons of exp.
8. Once you start getting to the point where you can kill skeletons, GET A BLUNT WEAPON. That additional 50% damage is there for a reason!
9. Yum! items are VERY USEFUL. Put them in your horadric cube alone, and hit the transmute button. Free healing and mana potions for emergencys! Hooray!
That is all. [ 08-23-2003: Message edited by: Willias ]
I did as the site said (backed up default .dll files, put in the mod's files) but when I try to play it, it DOESN'T FREAKING WORK.
What the hell do you have to do?
quote:
Willias obviously shouldn't have said:
You have to get the 3.1A mpq to get the mod to work. And you have to have the game patched to 1.09. NOT 1.10! 1.09!
Got 1.09. Had no clue you had to download the .mpq file.
I r the stupid.

Yeah, do some memory hacking.
