I know Geeorn asked before but I'm a retard and couldn't find the thread and I did my epic before there was even a complete spoiler.

A friend of mine has a 65 Cleric we all share as a two boxed buff bitch, and he may be able to finish his epic without redoing half of the quest with the new ability to spawn the guy on demand if you've already done that part.(He had done it all before, but since the original player quit he had multiquested one of the parts.)

You smell that? Do you smell that? ...Napalm, son. Nothing else in the world smells like that. I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed for twelve hours. When it was all over I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory.

The quest didn't change all that much, but it is my understanding that they've been dicking around with it recently.

I did it both ways, as I had to get the stupid thing twice.

How far along is cleric_bot31302 in the quest?

I just sorted it all out from the old spoiler, since you said it hadn't been changed much. He just needs to get Gimblox's ring again then use the new hailing change to turn it in. He had multiquested the pearl before he quit.

And it's kind of sad calling him a bot. :*( He was the first, or at least very close to it, level 50 on the Rathe. Was the best known Cleric on the Rathe for years. But then he quit and is nothing more than a two boxed buff bitch.

There is no shame in calling him a bot.

Most high end clerics now are a bot.

Theres no skill in it. The only skill in me playing is commanding all the healers.

Not true! You have to be able to count to not screw up the rotation.

i got fucking lucky on my clicker.

Bergurgle up when my Wizzy friend happened to be in Lake Rathe and he was like, "dude, let's gank this bitch"

i got Gimblox by rezzing a monk that a Druid was PL'ing in Sol A, and he camped the bitch for me and sent me a tell when Gimblox was up.

and of course, i got all my shards with no pain.

and King was easy too. for that matter, so was Rage.

the only painful part was sitting in Sol B for 12 hours to hold the Zordak camp.

[/wangwave]

anyways, if you're still having trouble with the epic tell me a bit better where you are. list the items you currently have.

and there's strategy to being a cleric! i need to wake up from my nap at semi-regular intervals to push 2 buttons 3 times! (if i had a horse it would only be pushing 1 button once!)

If we're honest in a modern-day 75 person raid nothing one does is really rocket science, the days of 35 person raids with every single bit of efficiency from each character counting are gone. If you just do your 'thing' you've learend doing for 65 levels it will be good enough.

The people who have to do the most thinking are those that make the strategies, playing a_cleric_14 a wizard_7 or a_bard_05 isn't all that much actual brainwork if you know to play your class.

You as a single non-raidleader hardly make any critical decisions during a fight, and if even one of those ever determines the outcome of the raid consider yourself lucky (or unlucky, depending on how well you picked).

Life... is like a box of chocolates. A cheap, thoughtless, perfunctory gift that nobody ever asks for. Unreturnable, because all you get back is another box of chocolates. You're stuck with this undefinable whipped-mint crap that you mindlessly wolf down when there's nothing else left to eat. Sure, once in a while, there's a peanut butter cup, or an English toffee. But they're gone too fast, the taste is fleeting. So you end up with nothing but broken bits, filled with hardened jelly and teeth-crunching nuts, and if you're desperate enough to eat those, all you've got left is a... is an empty box... filled with useless, brown paper wrappers.

I somewhat disagree, depending on the fight. A considerable amount of the PoP fights do require everyone to stay on their toes and act with the situation. Unfortunately Clerics as a class are rather gimped on raids, since well... they heal, and that's it.

Not saying you can slack off during fights and just randomly cast a spell or two, just that as raid sizes get bigger and bigger the less of your individial contribution you see in the fight. Yes everyone still has to be awake and know what to do, if my post came over as suggesting things had become easier I probably expressed myself badly.

Or I misunderstood you. Either way, I do have to agree on the numbers thing. I really miss the old days of 30 people in ToV, instead of 82 in Doomfire.

Welp, the bard class has changed that much? Unless you were a manabitch, a good bard was the hardest class to play in the game. Or is that my carpal tunnel talking?

The only reason Clerics can't walk away from their computers on BGH mobs is because they can't trust programs like Xylobot to actually work. Unlike Warriors who can turn on auto-attack and go watch TV (and yes, this has been doccumented as happening in some upper teir guilds).

Enchanters, Shamen and a few tanks have to be on their toes 24/7. Most of the melee classes just need to know when new mobs are comming in, same as the rest of the pure casters. Clerics just need to know when the MT has engaged and that's about all... I know this is horribly over simplified, but keep in mind that I don't play a cleric 'professionally', but I have gimped one along on a raid knowing nothing about healing tactics (this was before I played my shaman) and still did ok.

That stinks!

I do not know how I would have been able to stand that. I had lots more fun in regular pickup groups in karnors Heal, nuke, tank a little, ghetto crowd control, food dispenser. How I miss those fun days.

In the low end game and 100% non-raid game, it's that way.

In the upper eschelon guilds on low-end raids it's that way to a lesser extent (you're not nuking or meleeing, but you're not count healing either) because they're using 6 to 18 people to do things that take a lesser guild 30+ people to do with a heal chain.

In the higher end raids, you're counting and casting. That's about all.

i'm lucky, i have a TV in my room so i useually just sit back and watch tv/play with my GCN and glance at the screen every 30 secs or so.

and the fact that i'm in a tiny very non-uber guild so we can't even do anything other than Halls of Testing (and we can't even do that till some peeps get back from vacation).
