But still...
Hey I'll be all happy when they can clone body parts.. Would make waiting for a heart transplant alot easier in some cases...

There are a lot of serious ethical questions that surround genetic manipulation in general, and cloning specifically.
Would it be ethical, for example, to have several clones in storage to use for spare parts?
What if someone created a genetic template of a super-strong, low-IQ, specially modified genotype to do menial labor and be happy about it? Would it be okay to create, essentially, a slave race?

I want to see the cow that wants to be slaughtered, like in Hitchiker's. Should shut up PETA somewhat.

Some people may see those as tremendous ethical stumbling blocks, but I, for one, see the answers as self evident.
Would you be harming another sentient being? If the answer is yes then find a way not to. If the answer is no then I see no other reason not to proceed.
That's why a lot of scientists who are proponents of human cloning are wary about this guy. If this guy (or the people he allegedly represents) clone a human (or create a new human with copied genetic material) and it comes out with severe birth defects or suffers something akin to progeria (I know I misspelled that; basically it's when your body ages at an extreme rate...kids with it look like they're 90 when they're 10, etc), that'll set back other human cloning experiments by quite a bit.
Also keep in mind that to date we don't have a fast and easy method of rapidly-aging tissue to a state that we'd like, and then make it stop aging. So while yes, they could clone another you for spare parts, the arm of the clone is an infant's and will be for quite some time. Ditto the heart, eyes, lungs, kidneys, etc. Even if you clone someone the moment you're born, if the fault is genetic you're still screwed because the clone is only a few years younger than you.
As for genegineering a race of physically superior, mentally docile super-clones...first off, stop watching Episode 2. The real world is at least two decades away from even attempting that sort of thing. Scientists are still pretty vague about how to give a baby the eye or hair color of choice, much less anything more complex. And even if they DID have the knowledge, you wouldn't see them hatching a clone army (even if it's just an army of menial slaves) as the first stage.
The real thing people are itchy about is the religious issue. People get itchy when you say you just created life, and it has a soul. People tell you that you're playing God. Like that's something new. The minute humans turned wolves into dogs, or domesticated wild plants for the grain to feed themselves, they were playing God. Playing God is what humans do. Shouldn't limit scientific research based on your religious beliefs. You have to look at things realistically.
For instance...You want a new liver? Well cloning one up is still years off. On the other hand, bio-artificed, artificially-designed and constructed organs using your own tissue are only about a decade or two off. They're making amazing leaps and bounds with the technology. Most of the technology they need already exists, it's the design of the fine blood vessels that's tricky. But they're doing some amazing stuff. Artifical noses, ears, and other reconstructive facial pieces are only a few years off.
Cloning a baby tragically killed in a car accident? Well, let's be honest. It's not necromancy, folks. It's not resurrection. It's creating a second life in the first child's image. The only advantage you may get out of it is that it's an easier transition if it looks like the first child. Still have to wait 9 months. Still have to raise the child in real time back to the age the first child was. Plus a the moment there's a very good chance the kid's going to have all sorts of problems.
I'm all for human cloning for the right reasons. I just don't see that we have any of those reasons satisfied yet. Furthermore, I think that rushing headlong into doing it is only going to make it harder to get the legitimate stuff done when the time comes.

Not even that, they would work until they died from starvation. Food would be used to prolong there working life, not to pay them
