The level cap will increase to 65. Those levels will have inherent benefits much like previous levels. However, they will not be exactly the same. The rate of advancement in character levels is designed to feel more natural and not take the punishing time commitment required between 51 and 60. We understand the frustration that painfully long levels can cause, and hope not to repeat that experience for players.

JooJooFlop had this to say about Optimus Prime:
Righto, who wants to place bets on how long it will take for the first person to reach Lv.65 once PoP is out?
From the looks of what they say... no more then 3 days. You have no clue how uber some EXP is now in High Level zones and how fast you can kill
Yea being a 60 druid I solo elysians in Umbral Plains gain about 1 AA Blue bubble per kill about 1/3 a blue per kill regular XP sense they added the new XP bonus for higher mobs. With nothing but planes the mobs will probably be all 60 so XP will be insane if you can manage it. [ 09-14-2002: Message edited by: Delowen ]
Right then.. back to leveling work!
I give it 3 days, because 3 is a good number!

Prepares to watch the masses complain about never being able to even obtain level 60, yet continue playing.
Bitches about never being able to get to level 60.
Didn't want to let you down.
If you fight post lvl 55 mobs right now the experience is incredible even with a 6 man group.
Went to Dragon Necropolis and fought the rats for about 3 hours in a 6 man group and got a full AA.
Edit: Found this interesting as well:

Level advancement is closely tied to Planar Advancement. The systems compliment each other. Planar advancement includes extensions on the Alternate Advancement system, along with new abilities for all classes. Advancing your character is a combination of traditional leveling and advancement through planar abilities. Players who enjoy pure leveling can do so, and people that prefer a combination of level advancement and investment in specific abilities can do that as well.

I'm guessing it'd probably take a week of solid experience hunting to get from 60-65.If you fight post lvl 55 mobs right now the experience is incredible even with a 6 man group.

Judas Iscariot stumbled drunkenly to the keyboard and typed:
Race you all to 65 :P
Actually the way it sounds is that you can only gain levels 61 through 65 while in PoP, the levels are permanent but you have to move through PoP's storyline to get there.
Or there will be a new planar alternate advancement, and leveling up is one of your choices.
