I apologize for losing my temper last night. Not so much for being loud and rude in a thread, but for deciding to take a short hiatus (hey it lasted about 13 hours). It wasn't the Bane/Lady D situation that set off my ill temper. It wasn't the populace in general.

It was a bit of recurring irritation that set me off. There is a...predisposition... amongst forum members to push a certain button when I get long-winded. Whenever someone gets to a point where they want a quick, hard, fast blow to land, they accuse me of only having something significant to say when it involves Lyinar.

And that infuriates me. It's especially frustrating because I consider myself, not to be vain, to be a fairly intelligent individual. I constantly seek to make myself more intelligent, to hone my words to a more eloquent, efficient form. I long for the ability to express myself in a manner that sounds as good as my thoughts feel when they go through my head.

I relate to things through comics in a lot of ways, so let me phrase it like this. It's like an artist forced to work in black and white when the ideas in their head come in 256 colors.

And it belittles me, offends me, and hurts me in the worst way to have someone imply that I only give any deep thought when Lyinar cracks a whip.

I'm 23 years old, I'm in college. I'm going to be a teacher. I come from a combination of upper middle class (Dad side) and lower class (Mom side) upbringing. I've been arrested and convicted for stupid teenage rebellious stunts, I've had women do the equivalent of bizarre stalker-esque things to me, I've seen some truly twisted sexual kinks, I've had a stepbrother hang himself from a clothesline in his bedroom. My parents are divorced, both remarried, my mom is in the process of getting divorced again. I met my high school sweetheart online, and no matter how many times we broke up, we always got back together, always more wise than I was before. I've had car accidents, I read scientific journals, I read comic books, I watch cartoons, I'm a mythology buff, I play RPG's, I read, I wrestled in high school, I got straight A's in one-man acting shows in front of the school for my drama class. I've had a variety of odd animals (hedgehogs, a sheep, a cat-sized iguana (without tail), snake, cats, dogs of various sizes, birds, ferrets, cows, etc) as pets or animals I've been around. I've gone hunting (and couldn't bring myself to pull the trigger). My sister got married, got pregnant, and has a baby boy named Chase who I adore. I've had every rib in my body cracked except for one or two from fighting on the schoolbus when I hit a growth spurt in middle school and decided I was tired of being the nerd everyone picked on. I spent my teenage years alternately hating and admiring my parents. I look back and think, alternately depending on mood, how either head-on brilliant I was, or how stupid I was to think that way.

In other words, I've had the same experiences everyone else has had. I've had a few that some of you haven't. Some of you have had experiences I haven't. Point is...my life, my experiences, are what color my thoughts, and are the basis of what I have to say, from the most insane, inane Deth Labs post, to the most thought out so-called "DethEssay".

Please, before you go for that low blow in the future, think before you immediately decide that my only function in life is to be Lyinar's mouthpiece. It isn't true, and it isn't so.

That having been said...Feel free to express your own open thoughts, opinions, requests of your fellows, etc, here.

Seriously, though, if anything that happens within the ephemeral realm of an internet message board impacts your real-life self-esteem, it's probably time to have a V8, mentally. That's not a slam, just meant as friendly advice--you've got a great RL future, a great RL sweety, so why sweat it too much?

Do what you think is right, be open to learning new things, ignore the naysayers, and assrape anyone who starts a fight. Continue in your role as benevolent teacher; you do it well.
