This message boards is about the comic Evercrest. Now, if you were to click on a message board that is directly associated with a comic that produces humourous comics day after day after day, you'd think that a majority of the posts would be...oh...say...humourous?
Why do you people even use 'humour disclaimer' at the bottom of EVERYONE OF YOUR POSTS? Because you think someone might take your joke seriously? If so, well then, THAT person has some problems. When you come to this message board, and you see something like, this for example. You'd see the poster is trying to express something humourous, but, as you can see, someone takes it the wrong way.
Why would you people ever take anything seriously at this message board? Do we really need a disclaimer tag for every post in case someone has a stick up their ass?
Don't be so blind when reading a thread. If you know the poster is trying to do something funny, and you got a problem with it, PM the guy/girl. Don't be so anal about everything. EVERYTHING can be flamed if you look at it from another angle. Such as this "You sick fuck! How could you even post something like that after Dale Earnheart died. What are you even fucking thinking posting a racecar you idiot"
If you take something seriously when YOU GOD DAMN KNOW THE POSTER IS TRYING TO BE FUNNY, THEN YOU ARE AT THE WRONG MESSAGE BOARD.
not just any fire... its !
From now on, I shall no longer place any godamned humor disclaimers.
I think I need to go lie down.
SO PISS OFF BAJAH!!!
I agree completely, by the way. If you feel you have to point out that what you said is humorous, then the people who jump up your ass for it are morons anyway.
Excellent post, sir Deli.

Perhaps we should have an image like the timeline image that you can use to call out people with no sense of humor who get personally offended and flame an obvious joke?
Good idea. We'll call it the bloodsage tag.
BTW, how did the whole jumping on someone for an attempt at a humorous post start, anyway? Good point, Delid. [ 12-04-2001: Message edited by: WaisztarrozBarrimas ]

How about:

Needs an appropriate caption....
"This picture is here in the hopes the added funny it adds to this thread will help you realize this thread was made in JEST. Buy Snacky S'mores."
Or maybe something less wordy...
Talk! Ve know you haff relatives in ze old country.

Whoah...
Deli speaks truth, however. I'm tired of so many threads intended for humour turning into flamewars. Jebus.
But, sorry, the intent to make a joke does not excuse certain things. Being gracious an taking a joke is one thing. Hiding wildly inappropriate behavior behind attempts at humor is quite another.
For the record, I hardly lack a sense of humor; I simply combine it with a sense of decorum and the guts to stand up for what I think.

That should suffice.

Looks good to me.
I think the doggy one is funny, too.

Whenever a thread goes horribly wrong, Delid posts one of his pics. Almost guaranteed to work.
I do have to agree with Bloodsage, too, though. Some things aren't excusable by saying you were just joking. Nor is it an excuse to be inconsiderate to others, or put your desires before everyone else.
But, in your example, I do agree that wasn't something to get upset about. I think the thing that's made the most difference is how we've grown. We all used to be able to joke and kid because we knew the limits, were all familiar with each other, and didn't go where we shouldn't go.
Now we've tons of new people and older posters don't know them, they don't know older posters, and a lot of people just have no consideration for the rest of the boards.
Shows how much I know.
BTW, that was damned funny.

Dale didn't drive Indy Cars, did he? I thought he was a stock car guy.
Yeah, he drove Winston Cup cars. And was by far the biggest draw in the history of the sport.

We should, instead, have a seriousness disclaimer. Humor should be the default.
Which, of course, is what is for... [ 12-05-2001: Message edited by: Gydyon Waterlapper ]
