King Barx the IV sat upon a throne of gold inside his royal audience chamber.
Barx this night was troubled with visions that he had been having at night. The
candles in the chamber were burning long and they were nothing more than stumps of wax now. Barx pondered deeply the visions he saw at night, he saw the Crimson Moon Rising out his chamber window. He sighed as the moon rose because the visions made sense and he knew what was to come. The moon rose, then light of the Crimson moon was not the red crimson that it should have been it was instead Black. A fierce wind blow through the chamber's window, blowing out the candles the only light that was in the room. Alone sat the King in his dark chamber upon his throne, he started to cry when crimson light appear five feet from where he was sitting. A dark figure rose from the center of the Light. The figure appeared to be man but he had no shape to his features. The figure was just a figure of a man. The figure started to walk towards the kind and where the figured walked the crimson light followed, as the figure approached closer the king could see that the Dark shadow figure of man starting to take shape, first the head started to form. The face of the man was somewhat young only appeared to be in his early forties, appeared to be scared on his left cheek but other then that he was fine. The figure was now a man fully shaped and fully clad in Pit Black Armor with two jewels in the center of the Armor as part of some sort of Dragon crest. The man stopped about 2 feet from the man, mockingly bowing at the king.
"King Barx the Fourth, of the Kingdom of Antioc. I am Gali, Greatest of the Lower Gods. I come to you today to seek payment for the death of my men and the destruction of my greatest Creation! The Gate of Haven, the gate that you destroyed some four years prior to our meeting today. Now I do not ask much only the complete surrender and control of your Kingdom to the Holy Empire of Gali." speaking these words the man smirked.
Quickly the king replied "Good sir, four years prior this poor kingdom only took measures to protect itself from an enemy invasion."
"Yes...I see your stand, I change my offer then, I only want you to surrender to the Holy Empire of Gali." "My surrender? I have seen nothing that I should be scared of. I think you should surrender to me!"
"Pahh, I do not need to waste my time with you mortal I just want your Kingdom. Since you destroyed my men, you will destroy yourself and your allies" With that the jewels on Gali's armor began to glow a reddish green color, a green orb of light appeared in Gali's left hand.
"Now I'll show you my power" spoke Gali as he threw the orb at Barx. Barx started to get up but it was too late the orb of light had hit him. As the orb hit him its light began to move out from the orb and onto Barx's body. All the poor old fool could do was watch and scream in pain. The green light glowed brightly for a moment and then dimmed, where the king stood was now a horned demon, that squinted it's eye and roared.
"Yes yes now that's a good little king. Barx you know what you must do so do it quickly, I do not want to spend much more time on this rock." The Crimson light vanished, and with it Gali. The demon's shape began to fade and Barx the IV king of Antioc sat on his throne.
-Calgia-
Awaking suddenly from a frightful nightmare, Empress Calgia looked around and curled herself up and began to weep. She knew the nightmare was a vision of her future, as well of that of the future of her Empire. Wiping the tears from her face she stood up and walked to the balcony and looked up at the Crimson Moon. What does it mean? Why must the peace end now? I am no great leader, I just am spoke the Empress to the moon. The night stood still, and then grew cold the Empress shuddered then returned to the inner chamber of her room. She scanned the room for anything out of place seeing nothing wrong she walked to the painting of the Creor, gentle beast similar to that of a horse. Calgia leaned against the mantle below the paint and sighed and wondered what to make of her nightmare. The blood, the chaos, the death. All are my worst fear, bodies of thousands of Elves, humans, dwarves, and halflings. The sky what happened to the sky why was it so dark. Enough of this Calgia, you must not concern yourself with such matters. It was just a dream Yes a dream and nothing more. Speaking this the beautiful elf Empress returned to her bed to sleep and prayed to the Guardians to forget the nightmare by morning.
-meeting-
he war was beginning and the Lady Calgia had not yet declared war with Antioc, the strong and powerful nation lead by the Humans. She slowly sighed and called for her advisors to assemble in the throne room. Swiftly and silently the room filled with the court advisors. Lord Black Hawk stood by the Empress's left side, Lord Disconti stood to her left. The rest of the lesser advisors stood in front of her. "I have assembled you here today to ask for your advice" spoke the Empress in a firm voice. Slowly Lord Black Hawk stepped Forward and spoke "Empress, and royal advisors I will now sum up the events that have taken place in the past few days. Five Days ago a dark cloud appeared over Antioc, and since has grown to incase the land in darkness, all magic going into and out of the shadow of the land has stopped. All attempts to contact the leaders of Antioc have failed. Yesterday we finally received word from Antioc; their words were not the words we expected to hear. They were words of anger and hatred, they were words of war. Their words were simple, join them or fall. Ialic has sent word to us this morning saying they will not enter our quarrel with Antioc. The Empress now needs to make the dissension to either give into Antioc or to fight a war." The advisors stood there for a moment then one stepped forward, he was a gnome rather short as gnomes come. "Empress, I say we stand and fight. We have the will and the power! We wield magic and tech neither of which our enemy has they will fall to us within a days time if they attacked." Another advisor stepped forward, she was a fair elf maiden from Eril "Ha Narmir, what you seem to lack is our understanding of tech and magic, this cloud could extend past Antioc and unto our borders making magic useless and tech well you know how tech is! Though I do agree we should not surrender! We must not rely on magic and tech alone we have an army of fighters let us use them!" spoke harshly the Elven maiden name Vii. After about an hour of this quarrel between the youth and elder advisors, the Empress rose to her feet and spoke "My advisors, I would like to thank you for your voice and opinion in this matter. Now is not the time to surrender, it is time to make ready for war. Have our Techs start researching and creating new weapons of destruction to be used against our enemy, make ready our armies of brave warriors, and summon the mages, sorcerers, and enchanters all must be ready for the war that is too come." With that the Empress turned and hurried off with Black Hawk and Disconti in the direction of the war room....
