With the recent slowdowns, and at least one person raising complaints, I've decided to ask for my players' opinions on a few things. So here they are, numbered for your convenience.

[1] Certain activities, such as the current endeavor of building a fire, can prove rather boring in comparison to other parts of the campaign. When activities such as this arise in the future, would you rather (a) play them out, as with the current scene, (b) agree OOC on a general course of action, then receive a fast-forward summary of events, or (c) just skip them altogether, never to partake in the more mundane aspects of adventuring life?

[2] The group has been slowly gaining experience over the course of the campaign so far. Up to this point, I have kept those numbers secret, in the hopes that people would not dwell on the numbers. Several of you have asked about your XP, so I'd like the opinions of the group. Would you rather (a) not know your XP, (b) learn your XP from an announcement at the end of each chapter, (c) find out your XP privately at the end of each chapter, or (d) find out your XP total as of right now and any other time you ask?

[3] Over the course of the campaign, there have been several hints and clues that have come up, relating to the individual situations and to the larger picture of the campaign's story and events. The group has picked up on some of these clues, and has ignored or overlooked others. Some clues have been very subtle, while others have stood out, but none have been blatantly obvious. What is your opinion on this?
(a) I've seen enough clues, and have an idea what they mean. Whatever plans you have, follow through with them.
(b) The hints have been too subtle. Try to make them more obvious.
(c) Subtlety adds to the intrigue. Keep it up.
(d) Keep the hints as they are, but point them out OOC so the players don't miss them.
(e) Clues? What clues? You haven't given us any clues. Stop BSing.
(f) Forget clues, we want more orcs!
(g) Something else (please elaborate).

[4] Now that the campaign's been running for a while, how often do you find you have time to contribute (regardless of whether there's something for you to do)?
(a) At least four times daily.
(b) Once or twice per day.
(c) Two or three times per week.
(d) About once per week.
(e) Less than once per week, but at least once every couple weeks.
(f) I don't have enough time to continue participating. The campaign was supposed to be slow!

1. Not sure, the realism is nice, but damn it drags alot.
2. I'd prefer just to know when I level and ignore the exp the rest of the time.
3. DO NOT CHANGE CLUES. I prefer to stumble along. If we can't get the clues then we can't.
4. B or C. Usually I can 2 or 3 times a day, but sometimes I get stuck and need longer between posts.

1.) b or c, but tell us if something important happens during the events. It's fine to do these things in the beginning, and maybe even alittle longer, but by the time we're level two I would think we wouldn't need to develop our characters during these boring acts. Also, if a few people want to play it out, for whatever reason, I think we should anyway.

2.) I would think C. Other people shouldn't know our exp, but I think we should have some idea. I mean, even character wise, you would know if you'd learned something after a while. Level ups are more important to know, but I'd like to know the exp too.

3.) C and sometimes D, depending on HOW subtle you make them, and then intelligence/skills of the character. For example, if the hint is subtle, but our character would obviously know it, but we don't, maybe point it out ooc?

4.) Now that it's summer I can do A most of the time, as I check about that many times during the day. For safety's sake, however, I would say B.

1. B to C.
2. A
3. B, with a bit of D carried out through PMs to people who have characters which should notice more details than they are.
4. A to B

1. I would say it depends if there is something important nearby or not. If all we need to do is set up camp and rest until daylight, then I would go with agreeing with something in ooc, but if we are close to a city or in a dangerous area, we should have to slowly set up camp as we are currently.

2. C

3. Don't change the way you are currently doing clues, except for one thing, if there is something VERY important that a player should know, let him/her know in a PM.

4. C, mostly D recently. With all these new games coming out I've been doing a lot of playing during the day time. But, I try to post when I remember about the forums. I will try to remember to post more often though.

Well, I've enjoyed reading your story so far, I'd just like to put in my 2 cp as a fellow D&D player:

1. As comical as A) is, I would suggest B), as it would probably cut down on Player/Dm annoyances

2. In my game, xp is given out after encounters. Since each chapter only covers 1 or 2, I suggest at the end of the chapter, as the player's get a feeling of accomplishment(why xp's are handled the way they are), but it doesn't disturb play.

3. E-F); I haven't been able to read EVERYTHING yet, so.. yeah.

4. Well, seeing as I'm not in this... my answer is q. Yes, q.

Hope my input is seen as non-spam!
