1st) No male channeler PCs (i.e. Initiate, Wilder) - It would cause so many headaches for the player and group that it isn't worth it. Maybe later, but not in the beginning.
2nd) Any problems with a fellow player or a rule, please take it up with me. I don't want RL strife drug over into the game.
3rd) Remember that your equipment is special. Some of it has probably been handed down through your family or earned in some special way. Give some of your equipment (clothes, your weapon, etc) some history and life. There is little magical type items in this world so ordinary things become special.
4th) If you happen to pick Aiel, Atha'an Miere, or Ogier as a background, we need to find you a good reason to be outside your domain (Aiel Waste, the ocean, or the stedding). Keep this in mind when writing your character's background.
Character Creation
1) Choose your background. This is equivalent of your race. The only nonhuman race a player can be is the Ogier. Otherwise, all other backgrounds are different nationalities/regions of humans.
The Backgrounds include:
Aiel
Atha'an Miere - Sea Folk
Borderlander
Cairhienin
Domani
Ebou Dari
Illianer
Midlander
Tairen
Tar Valoner
Taraboner
Ogier
2) After choosing your background, if you did not pick Ogier, you get one free feat selected from a list depending on your background. You also receive 4 bonus ranks in one skill from a list that also depends on your background. In addition, you may select one set of starting equipment/items that you start with that doesn't count against your starting money total. Also included are bonus languages that your character can take if they possess an Intelligence score of 12 or higher. (Two special notes to backgrounds is that Aiel can not wield swords or take any ranks in the Ride skill. Also an Atha'an Miere character must have at least 1 rank in Profession (sailor).)
Feats and Skills based on Background: Background Feats/Skills
(This free feat and 4 ranks in a skill is addition to your starting skill points and feat you receive at 1st level. All your Background skills even if you don't put the 4 ranks into them are treated as class skills for your character.)
Bonus Languages and Equipment: Background Languages/Equipment
(All languages but Ogier, Old Tongue, and Aiel Handspeech are just dialects of Common. Like the differences in how a Northern American and a Southern American speak English. You know your background's dialect to start and can pick up the other dialects as you go.)
Feat Information for the Background Feats: Feats
If you did select Ogier, special racial traits are included in the above Ogier Background Information. Ogier don't receive a free feat, extra skill points, or free equipment.
3) Pick a starting class. Experience and gaining of Feats/Ability points is the same as in the 3.0 DnD PHB. You can multiclass if you choose starting as a 0/0 level character.
Wheel of Time d20 Classes are:
Algai'd'siswai: Aiel Spear-Fighter
Armsman: Fighter
Initiate: Trained Channeler
Noble: Powerful Commander
Wanderer: Rogue
Wilder: Self-taught Channeler
Woodsman: Ranger
For Initiates and Wilders, if you don't have the d20 book, get with me about weaves(WoT Spells), Talents, Affinities, and bonus weaves you get for stats.
Some of you without the book might be curious about the Defense and Reputation sections of the class information. Defense takes the place of AC now. If a character is wearing no armor, their base Defense is 10 + the Defense bonus given by their level in their class + Dexterity Modifier + Misc stuff. If wearing armor, you pick which is higher to use, the Defense Bonus or the Armor Bonus.
Reputation kind of takes the place of the Leadership feat now. As you level, depending on your class and feats of heroics or such that you do, your reputation amongst the world will increase. As it raises, you become well known to your town, eventually to your country, even to the world at large. This allows you to use your fame (or infamy) to more easily influence people. This also can have some not-wanted side effects. The more famous you grow, the harder it is for you to go anywhere unnoticed, and such can cause complications say if you are a famous Aes Sedai and a band of Whitecloaks are in the area.
4) Assign Ability scores. We're using a Point Buy system. 34 points for stats. All stats start at 8, increasing a stat up through 14 costs 1 point. Past 14 up through 16 costs 2 points. Past 16 up through 18 costs 3 points.
5) Hit Points are max for first level. Every level after this you can roll or take 50% of your dice + Constitution bonus.
6) Assign skill points. All skills are the same as in the 3.0 DnD PHB unless noted otherwise below.
Skills Changes and New Skills: Skills
7) Pick your first level feat. Below, if the Feat is not changed, it will say to refer back to the 3.0 DnD PHB.
Feats for WoT d20: Feats
8) Purchase equipment. Starting funds for each character is max for their class.
Algai'd'siswai: 120mk
Armsman: 200mk
Initiate: 120mk
Noble: 300mk
Wanderer: 160mk
Wilder: 120mk
Woodsman: 160mk

Finaly! made up my mind!
THats right! omg!
I have played to many rogues and fighter type in the past! so the hell with it!
Initiate got my curiosity!
I like to know what are Air, Spirit and Water, what they do.
From there I'll deside and will request my spells, And will amke a story for my character acording to it.
Dont worry, I play my mages with helpfull spells to help friends or to help in none melee situation (but usaly smart enough to use them spell in a fight if needed)
Thinking of going "Aes Sedai" and take on a robe ^_<

The One Power is made up of 5 elements. Air, Water, Fire, Earth, and Spirit. Men are good with Fire, Earth, and Spirit, Women are good with Air, Water, Spirit. Each weave takes one or more of these elements in its making. You weave threads of the elements into a complex or simple pattern that depends on the weave to create its effect.
I've opened up my PM box a bit now.
Aes Sedai (Female Channeler Organization based in White Tower): Gender - Female; Skills - Composure 4 ranks, Concentration 8 ranks, Weavesight 4 ranks; Feats - Multiweave, Sense Residue, Tie Off Weave; Channeling - Two or more Talents.
Asha'man (Male Channeler Organization): Gender - Male; Base Atk Bonus - +2; Skills - Composure 4 ranks, Concentration 8 ranks, Weavesight 3 ranks; Feats - Multiweave, Sense Residue, Tie Off Weave; Channeling - Two or more Talents; Special - Proficiency with any type of sword (normally a longsword).
Blademaster (Master Swordsman): Base Atk Bonus - +5; Skills - Balance 4 ranks, Intimidate 5 ranks; Feats - Combat Reflexes, Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Whirlwind Attack; Special - Proficiency with any type of sword; Weapon - Masterwork sword.
Commander (Generals and War Leaders): Base Atk Bonus - +5; Skills - Diplomacy 6 ranks, Ride 5 ranks; Special - Must belong to an organized standing force. This includes mercenary companies, national armies, and the forces attached to individual houses or nobles.
Gleeman (Bards, Entertainers): Background - Human, non-Aiel; Skills - Diplomacy or Intimidate 6 ranks, Perform 10 ranks, Pick Pocket 10 ranks; Feats - Fame.
Thief-Taker (Bounty Hunters): Base Atk Bonus - +6; Skills - Gather Information 5 ranks, Intimidate 5 ranks, Move Silently 5 ranks, Search 5 ranks; Feats - Exotic Weapon Proficiency (swordbreaker), Track.
Warder (Aes Sedai Bodyguard): Base Atk Bonus - +6; Skills - Balance 4 ranks, Intimidate 5 ranks, Ride 4 ranks; Feats - Alertness, Improved Initiative, Combat Reflexes; Special - A character must have been the target of the 'bond warder' weave prior to taking any levels of this class.
Windfinder (Atha'an Miere Female Channeler Organization): Gender - Female; Skills - Composure 4 ranks, Concentration 8 ranks, Weavesight 4 ranks; Feats - Multiweave, Sense Residue, Tie Off Weave; Channeling - Two or more Talents.
Wise One (Aiel Female Channeler Organization): Gender - Female; Skills - Composure 4 ranks, Concentration 8 ranks, Weavesight 4 ranks; Feats - Multiweave, Sense Residue; Channeling - Two or more Talents.
Wolfbrother (Someone who can communicate with wolves and becomes more wolf-like themselves): Background - Non-Ogier; Skills - Animal Empathy 8 ranks, Listen 5 ranks, Spot 5 ranks, Wilderness Lore 5 ranks; Feats - Animal Affinity, Latent Dreamer; Special - Must have heard the call of the wolves or spent time in a wilderness area. Wolfbrothers almost never arise in cities; Accelerated Madness - A hero can waive up to three of the skill and feat requirements but each one so waived adds an additional 1d6 roll to his Madness Rating.
That means you either can use Armor and/or Shield armor bonus or your class Defense bonus, not both added together. That is unless you're a 3rd+ level armsman with Armor Capatibiliy.

Pair and Rena had this to say about (_|_):

Nope, you're only 16 Defense if you use your Defense Bonus from your class.

Well with the drops, yeah:
Current Lineup: Ukko, Rosa, Addy, Geeorn, Alaan, and Fal
We have Ukko, Alaan, and Gee all from the Borderlands.
Fardel(Ukko) the Borderlander Wanderer
Cray Fielder(Alaan) the Borderlander Armsman (specifically from Shienar, eastern most nation of the Borderlands)
Galon d'Breglan(Geeorn) the Borderlander Woodsman
Fal and Rosa are also from the same region being both Ebou Dari.
Valon(Fal) the Ebou Dari Woodsman
Marien Sutoma(Rosa) the Ebou Dari Initiate
And Addy all by herself from over in Tear.
Eloisa Alvarez(Addy) the Tarien Wilder
The game starts in Caemlyn during the same time that Rand and Mat have arrived for the first time when Logain is about to make his way through the city escorted by his Aes Sedai jailors on the way to the White Tower to be Gentled. The first place the party will meet as a whole is one of the last remaining Inns with rooms for rent in the city.
So any one wish to know each other before hand, be travelling together, old friends that meet in Caemlyn, etc.?
This comes from my brain being fried today...I'm so tiiiiired!
And I'd like a side of Canadian bacon with my Fryed Kat's brains please!

Wow, nice work as always, Ukko! ^.^
And I'd say Cray would unlikely to be knowing anyone outside of Shienar/visitor to Shienar due to only recently becoming a soldier recently. Unless the other Borderlanders have interest in decorative wood products!
Marien probably wouldn't know Valon unless he had worked some time at the docks in the harbor, or at her home, and being a woodsman, that sounds unlikely.
He might have heard of her family if he lived in Ebou Dar itself (the city). But outside the city in the rest of Altara, most of the six houses other than the current Queen's and the former Queen's are relatively unknown (those being House Mitsobar and House Todande).
But then, as an Accepted, she's not going to be advertising her surname anyway (Aes Sedai and Accepted usually are considered to have severed ties to their families, anyway), so that's a non-issue. Lashanna fucked around with this message on 02-28-2005 at 04:47 PM.
I'll draw up a quick sketch of my character sometime, la~ I'm proud of the image I have of her in my mind, don't think I translated it *too* well on paper though. We shall see ;o
quote:
This insanity brought to you by Dr. Gee:
I don't know anyone.
I'm actually your long lost siste- oh, sorry, Kat!
You're all a bunch of strangers who meet in Caemlyn for the first time.
I'll let most of you think up the various little details to why your character is down in Caemlyn but here are a few main reasons. Pick one or two or whatever that apply to you:
1) You're here to see the False Dragon on his way up to the White Tower.
2) You're setting out to see the world now that you've acquired enough skill not to get yourself killed right off. Caemlyn is just one destination on that journey.
3) You're here on a special mission/assignment. You work for an organization, group, noble house, etc, that has you for whatever reason scoping out Caemlyn at this time.
4) You are an outcast from your society or hunted for whatever reason (gambling debts, old rivalries, criminal actions, etc) and the turmoil in the city of Caemlyn at the moment is the perfect place hide away in.
5) The Magical Faeries have kidnapped you from your home and magically placed you in the middle of this city you don't know! Damn them Faeries and their tricky ways! Just kidding..this really isn't an option. Katrinity fucked around with this message on 02-28-2005 at 05:55 PM.
Mail delivery from Arafellins!
But less, "I'm off to see the wizard," and more, "I'm sick of this stinking Blight."
I assume you know my reasoning already, Kat dear?
