I'm still on Leviathan, 58 Samurai/(Thief, Ranger, Warrior).

Spent the last month or so fishing for my Haubergeon, and finally doing a full overhaul on equipment.

How much does the Ochiudo's Kote run on your server? It's about 420-450k here right now.

And, what equip are you saving towards?

Kote is about 500k. Saving up for a Sniper's Ring atm. Topped with my Ronin Ring I'll have +31 acc when my TP is below 100% and +26 acc when it's above 100%. Next item on my list is a haubergeon, which is about 1.3 million, I will end up selling the sniper, my master's gi, and my valk mask to fund it. That's about 900k right there.

Hmm... I'm headed toward a balance of +STR/+ATK/+ACC.

Should be at +15 STR, +44 ATK, and +24 ACC at level 59... Simply don't do enough damage otherwise, I've found. Then again, I'm keeping up with some crappy Dark Knights.

Haubergeon, Kote, Spike Earrings, Royal Guard's Collar for the Attack,
Sun Rings, Myochin Haidate, Royal Knight's Bascinet and Haubergeon for the STR,
and Life Belt, Haubergeon, and Royal Guard's Collar for the ACC.

I never liked the -DEF on the Sniper Rings, personally.

True, STR may be the way to go. My ATK comes from: Valk Mask, 2 Spike Earrings, and Royal Gaurd's Collar. And I get STR from my AF legs. When I get closer to 60 I'll start farming and saving up for a Haubergeon, the Sniper will fund part of it.

I'm just having a little trouble hitting stuff, figure the sniper would be a quick fix.

Yeah, I was spoiled with having a Bard in the groups I can remember.

Oh, I should throw out my linkshell's homepage.

I occaisionally do updates for them, and I wrote a guide on Skillchains...

Then there's the video of me dying at the bottom of the updates page.

Did you level your sword/archery to spirtits/sidewinder levels yet? LS went tooling around doing Genkai 1/skilling up tonight. I got sword to 115 and Archery to 93.

I think once I get the sniper I'll snag a Archer's Knife and pick on those antican rangers outside of Rabao, since I can't find any worms.

I have Sidewinder, but not Spirits. Ranger sub is for doing excessive amounts of damage really fast, assuming low evasion creatures.

The whole Spirits Within thing seems... anti-Samurai-ish. Because it doesn't chain with anything, or even interrupt skilchains.

If you want to level up archery fast... Grab a Speed Bow, and get a group down in Garlaige fighting Chamber Beetles... and about 2500 wood arrows. Brought my archery up 50 points in about 4 hours. Then again, I was always the puller, and I had a level 45 Thief before I quit that job. So I had a base of about 125-ish archery before heading into the Citadel.

You understand the whole thing about skillchains doing more damage if it's a longer total SC, right? An example here, would be when I fought the WHM AF1. (125% Fragmentation on the Sidewinder)

Not too many people read the forums, so I hope they don't exceed angelfire's crappy bandwidth limit. My LS's filebox is down.

Spirits is more of a HNM thing, start the fight with a clean 500+ damage.

Since I have a set now, I can level Ranger during non grouping days to help get archery up.

Hmm. Didn't think about that one. Throw the 2 Hour in there with Meditate, and an Icarus wing, and pull off a quick 2000 damage, assuming that you're not getting hit.

(300%, SW, Meikyo Shisui, SW, Meditate to 300%, SW, Icarus Wing, SW)

Can't gain TP while Meikyo is up. But that would still do a lot of damage. Just need to keep your HP up.

Though, I think I might level up warrior after seeing my friend Darke bust Hakutaku's chops with 1024 Steel Cyclone vs. my piddly 275~300 Asuran Fists.

Meditate works, I know that. Just can't get TP with melee attacks.

Icaurs Wing works. It's needed for the 7-Weapon Skills-In-A-Row tactic to beat Maat as a Samurai.

Is it 7 Weapon Skills?

I've heard other people say that you need to make a level 1, a level 2, and a level 3 skillchain in a row on him. Others say just a level 3. And everyone else says "Pound the fuck out of him." D:

How do Icarus Wings work anyway?

It should be 6 weapon skills in a row.

100%, Meikyo Shisui, Meditate during Meikyo, and Icarus Wing.

I did a 5 Hit without an Icarus wing on the WHM AF1 (which I fixed the link for) and did a 125% damage Fragmentation with Sidewinder... which made me feel good.

I need to look at my SC Chart to see if you can do a Self L3 chain... Without Kasha I mean.

Problem is, as I'm reading this, if you wanted to do a long SC, it's impossible without weapon switching. (We don't get anything that can hit a compression/gravitation until Kasha)

So the way we'd do an L3, would be Enpi -> Enpi = Distortion -> Gekko = Dark. And for Maat, we could do that one twice.

What I would prefer doing (if we had a WS capable of hitting for a compression) would be Gekko, Yukikaze, (Compression WS that we don't have), Enpi, Jinpu, Gekko, for a pumped up Dark SC.

Gonna be hitting 59 tonight in my set PT. I'm thinking about taking some major time off to farm to start saving up for a Haubergeon, maybe even selling my Sniper's Ring (paid 480k, can sell for 600k now), Master's Gi, and maybe even my Valkyrie's Mask.

Since I'm in a melee heavy set my TP is rarely over 100% for very long, this makes my Ronin's Ring (+5 acc if tp at/is under 100%) work like a Sniper's. This means I can get a Sun Ring for the open slot. I'll have my AF helm by 60 for sure, so selling the mask might not be a bad idea.

2 terrible groups, an okay group, and soloing 1000 exp later... I proudly wear my Haubergeon.

+24 Accuracy, +44 Attack, and +15 STR (I'm not wearing my RK Bascinet, because it's ugly as sin.)

On a good note I did get the key off the first Temple Bee we killed. I only took an hour to search for it so far, oh well tomorrow is another night. There have to be JP players that still need that map and are willing to deal with those "3 impossible to solo spawn points".

2 of my friends and myself went after coffer keys, by our selves

I mean, we snagged the Eldieme Necropolis coffer key, Crawler's Nest, Quicksand Caves, and attempted the Ugly temple one... Needless to say, A level 58 Paladin, 58 White mage, and 58 Samurai are going to have some problems alone.

Congrats on your coffer key though, it's the first step to that Domaru... And I'm going to need that Domaru if I'm ever going to take a hit.

I sub war 90% of the time, but seeing as how I just got 60, I may try subbing thf. I need to try sata Dancing Edge > sata Tachi: Yukikaze with my set thf, I'm not sure the skillchain will do much damage, but the damage from the weaponskills should take care of that.

My set has this make up: sam/war(/thf, /rng?) drk/war(/nin), thf/nin, rdm/blm, and whm/blm(/smn, /brd). I'm thinking about taking Ranger up to 30/32, so I can use Sidewinder with Guillotine. But I think farming for a Haubergeon is more important.

Heads up for Sidewinder, as you're going to need a lot... and I mean a LOT, of Ranged accuracy... to make it land half the time, on VT's and IT's at least. I don't like Ranger sub in exp groups. Thief sub makes me accurate and useful for SC's, so that's generally what I like staying with. A guaranteed WS to chain with = consistant bursts in my opinion. And it really needs to be pretty consistant, if you want to fight Toramas in Onzozo. Those kitties are fast.
