Me? The moment I got Cobra Strike normal attack got tossed out the window and Dragon Claw took it's place as my left click. It can also become Dragon Tail or Dragon Flight for when I need it, but the Claw is now my normal attack. I never run out of mana unless I am dealing with a Mana Burn boss, but I jut charge up quickly and wait for him to land a blow to drain him

I've also discovered, not sure if this is true for ALL drains, but the undead cannot be cobra striked. I thought in Act 2 that the cobra strike was bugged or something because almost all the time I got nothing out of it, but been paying attention in Act1 Nightmare that only living things can be drained

Makes sense though

So what level did everyone else remove normal attack?

Dun Remember what level, but as my Sorceress, I generally keep teleport in my Right Click, and The erm... Ice Ball Spell (The last one, Frozen Globe or something... who's name I've forgotten, It's been awhile)

I like to fire one glob, then teleport, fire another, sorta like kiting... They nerfed Teleport AND Frozen Globe... That makes me sadf.

Frozen Globe now has a Casting Time, and I can't Teleport through enemies anymore (I'd use it to get away from swarms. It's kinda funny to break all the seals in the Chaos Sanctuary without killing a single creature. Diablo won't spawn till you kill Eater of Souls, Lord De Seis, and the Grand Vizhier guy).

Dad's going to kill you. Really. He is.

Barbarian: At 34, never. Never have. Or course, I rarely normal anyway, with WW and MD.

Paladin: When I got zeal.

Assasain: I may never get rid of normal attack with her.

Bliz nerfed leech against undead.
Bliz HALVED leech in nightmare and hell.
Bliz Removed duel leech rings.
Bliz removed leech from skelatons.
Bliz HATES leech items.

I dont like the changes to leech at all. it really sucks.

BTW anyone know where to find a picture of the MTG card elvish piper?

AHhh... so they changed leechs? I thought I didn't seem to be draining quite enough life, oh well, guess I will just have to put more points in cobra strike...

I constantly use cobra strike, thus my Dragon Claw is very effective. I dual hit instead of a single hit, and the 2 mana matters nothing when I drain like 60 back

I don't plan to ever use normal attack again, Dragon Strike is so much better... one thing I like about the assassin is that dragon flight and dragon tail don't use weapon damage, so I can hold my own with cobra strike and kicks while nekkid.

Barbarians should never use normal attack after they get a decent mana drain setup. All barbarians use SOMETHING in the attack skill tree. Bash is better than normal costing only 2 mana.
I use Concentrate, my personal favorite: it only costs 2 mana, while greatly increasing defense, attack rating AND attack power.

Spearmazons use Jab, and javazons should have the long ranged attack instead of normal. Some bowmazons switch to Magic arrow, as it doesn't take up arrows, becomes free eventually, and increases damage.

Paladins use zeal. Sometimes. Most of the time.
A Sorceress has too many choices. I prefer to leave it as attack. I can't resist running up and finishing that rotting corpse at 5% life and frozen with a good whack to the head.

Necro's work like sorceresses, except there are a few necro weapons that can be used for REAL powerful attack damage.

I don't have the expansion yet, but from what I know, assassins stop using attack at an early level. Dr00ds are unknown to me.

"He lets the last Hungarian go, and he goes running. He waits until his wife and kids are in the ground and he goes after the rest of the mob. He kills their kids, he kills their wives, he kills their parents and their parents' friends. He burns down the houses they grew up in and the stores they work in, he kills people that owe them money. And like that he was gone. Underground. No one has ever seen him again. He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. 'If you rat on your pop, Keyser Soze will get you.' And nobody really ever believes." - Roger 'Verbal' Kint, The Usual Suspects

I got rid of normal attack as soon as I was allowed to get zeal. Because my most common aura is thorns, which has no mana cost, I very rarely have mana problems, and the two mana for zeal is virutally nothing, my natural regen of mana is almost faster than that.

They make for a great combo, though. Hit the enemy for five times with every strike, and have every hit they do to me returned tenfold. No melee creatures have ever even made me pause. My only real problem is spell casters (and exploding enemies, but that's another matter entirely)

At level 43 on my assassin I still just use normal attack mostly because I prefer the rhythmic *wham* *wham* *wham* *wham* over the *whamwham* *pause* *whamwham*

My barbarian is level twenty-something, and still uses Normal attack. Why? Maybe it's because I actually bother to look for good weapons, and always try to increase my strength with each level. I keep attack in the left click slot, with Bash in the right. So far, the strategy works GREAT.

35 Bowazon, Primary: Multishot or Guided Arrow because if theres normally just 1 enemy, I let the Valkyrie take it out

Secondary: Strafe/Immolation Arrow/Freezing Arrow(The big AE cold one.)

Level 39 paladin - I dropped normal attack in favor of zeal at about level 18.

Level 35 necro - I drop normal attack for bone spear at level 24, then switched to spirit at 30.

Level 28 barb - when I got enough mana leech (level 20 I believe) I did nothing but bash.

Level 24 dr00d - Still using it, to the best of my knowledge. I don't have enough mana yet to warrant a spell as my main attack.

The trend seems to be with melee classes, use a special attack once you've built it up a bit and have sufficient mana leech to keep your mana up. With casters, you have to wait a little while longer, until you get sufficient mana regen and have enough mana to make that regen powerful enough for you.

47 Bowazon, act V on nightmare level.
Weapon set I: Magic arrow on primary, strafe or multishot on secondary.

Weapon set II: Normal attack on primary, summon valkyrie on secondary.

I've hired a barbarian mercenary for a pet, the valkyries are good at soaking up damage, but they don't dish it out all that well.

assassin's main point = CHARGE UPS

charge ups rock hehe, i started using them in act 3 and i;m breezing through the game while taking out multiple enemies with my dragon tail which does 300% or so more dmg and a ridiculous life and mana tap hehe.

L72 Bowazon, working on the barbarians in hell difficulty (those act 5 hard as hell ones).

I have Ice Arrow as my main attack. Does Normal damage (For leeching) AND freezes/chills. Strafe is normally my right click, with a valk occasionally getting summoned (if she dies)

With my +2 Bow and +2 to all skills, My Strafe is at 24 skill, ice arrow at 5, Immolation 13, and freezing Arrow(the AE) is 8

I keep 8 things on my right click and scroll through em with my wheel. I leech enough mana to use ice arrow as my primary (on single targets) or to strafe 2+ targets

Of course if i end up with 10+ targets, i can have just 11 mana and one strafe fills me up. its like a Full Rejuvination potion

My 3 Auradins dont have any points in paladin combat skills since they only use auras and go into parties.

The barbie has berserk/conc/stun for left click and right click as like 4 things from the warcry trees.

Caster paladin has FoH/zeal on left click and some auras on right.

I dream of becoming the 'main bad guy' of the world, that bad guy who has the power to rule the world and destroy everyone in it.

Then after gaining control of the world, I'll reveal my plans to a young man with spiked hair who forms a party and eventually destroys me.

Remember the most important part of being an evil villain, is revealing your plans to somebody who can stop you with a mysterious past that you happen to be involved in.

I use strafe as my main attack unless i am fighting a boss then i switch to my 165 ppike that gives +1 all and +2 javalin spear!
still only doing 50 more than my bow with half as much STR as dex.
I am 58 BTW.
Secondary attack is eitehr guided arrow or decoy(this is SOOOOO good when meleeing, with +3 to skills from soj tarn and pike it lastss like 30 seconds and mana with a soj is a joke when i have 1 ring at 58 that is just 6% mana steal! )

Anyway it was level 12 when i finally got enouph leech to multi constantly. All my jewelry and my bow was leech gave me 21%

PS I need a good bow, either a 6 socket with fast/very fast or a high damage bow i cam imbue either a hydra or the highest level crossbow that is 2x3 forgot name but i wanna skull imbue it if my imbue suxxors.
