I want to be able to do some damage in PVP hopefully take some people down with me at the very lest.
I think there are other people here that can tell you the best way to go for PvP.

I need some advice, I am playing a Warlock on Bonechewer a PVP server, I have come to realize that my current talent path (Demonology) is probably not a good choice seeing how I am on a PVP server and once the master is dead the pet is gone. My quest is this: Is Affliction or Destruction a better path to put the majority of my talents in? I am thinking Demonic Embrace is a good idea to stick with but I should probably move everything else to another tree. Any suggestions?I want to be able to do some damage in PVP hopefully take some people down with me at the very lest.
Destruction is unquestionably better for PVP. Three second stuns and dazes on your AoEs, reduced mana cost on your burst damage, an insta-nuke, tons of great stuff. However, you will be totally frontloaded and your VW won't be able to hold aggro, so expect to be gimped in PVE.
Affliction line is not good for PVP at all. It has Curse of Exhaustion and that's about it.

Advance to the improved VW first, then proceed down the destruction tree. Cap it off with the improved succubus whenever you feel like it. This will preserve some semblance of PVE capability while still making you a burst damage/aoe sonic electronic ballbreaker.
Do not underestimate the role of pets in PVP. Most people ignore them totally, and with the right talents the succubus and imp are a deceptively large source of damage. Maradon! fucked around with this message on 03-07-2005 at 08:41 PM.

Improved shadow bolt is crap. Considering that you will critical MAYBE 5% of the time...the talent is rarely useful. You're better off getting Cataclysm and Bane. Daze isn't that great...if it were stun, though...it'd be FAR FAR better.
Daze is nice for PvP, however.

Consider, though, that when you do crit a shadow bolt, your succubus' lash of pain will deal 20% more damage on top of the 25% extra damage it does due to Improved Succubus for the next four hits. Together, that translates into some major pain, and since nobody ever pays any attention to the pet, it won't be prevented.

Personally, I prefer benefits that I can count on from fight to fight as opposed to things that will help me in 1 of 20 fights.
