Okay, so I finally got my own computer, spent roughly $900 the other day to get everything I needed.

So I've now got it set up, but everytime I try to install certain things(my dvd burner software, norton professional 2003, among some other programs), there's always some sort of error. It doesn't seem to be the same error each time either. Is there some sort of thing I need to turn on, to let things be installed.....or something...

And, randomly, the computer reboots itself. No message before hand, just completely restarts. I have no idea why it would do this.

Everything in the computer is brand new, out of the box, except an old 20GB HD I'm running, until I can afford a new one.

Specs:
Giga-Byte Socket A/462 Motherboard, GA7N400L
AMD Athlon XP Barton 2500+
PC3200 DDR 256MB - x2
old 20GB HD
Geforce FX 5600 128mb

control panel > system > advanced tab > startup and recovery settings > under the system failure section uncheck the box labeled "automatically restart". I used to have problems with that now and then, maybe it'll help.
