My Uncle worked on the F-111 Re-seal/de-seal program right before he left service during the Vietnam era. During this time he was exposed to a lot of chems while going through the tanke. He's recently been diagnosed with a type of cancer (can't remember the name) that affects the Lymph nodes.

The family has been trying to dig up info on the health effects the work may cause in people later in life. This started when my Aunt read an Australian report about a study that was conducted by service men in thier F-111 re-seal/de-seal program and about how they have a higher amount of various health problem.

They haven't been able to get anything from the US military branches, however you guys have been able to pull some funky stuff out of the internet before, and i'm hoping you can do it again.

At some point in the future i'll be getting a chem list sheet of what kind of stuff he was exposed to and will post that. It'll have the mil-specs on there as well.

aka Hodgkin's Disease. IIRC all cancers eventually affect the Lymph Nodes though...

Yeah it's one of the major transmission means of cancer through the body.

If you look up cancer at WebMD, Gee, you can get a lot of info about the varied types, but you really need a genuine doctor to put it into any sort of context.

That having been said, the US Military is notorious for dragging their feet when it comes to matters of health and what troops were exposed to, etc.

Gee you or your uncle should contact the local VFW they might be able to help out in getting information that you seek. At the very lest they can be a extra support system for him.

I would recommend contacting the Veterans Affairs (VA) office or hospital near you for any info about this. And here is the best and most comprehensive study I've been able to find on the subject in the Aussie websites Gee.

It's a PDF

Awsome, thanks Kag.

And ya, i knew that it was Hodgkins, but last night after a truly brutal Calc final at 1:30 in the morning i wasn't capable of anything more than brief "the thingy is a sorta dongle" type descriptions.

I'm pretty sure he's already contacted the various Veterans Health Service organizations, but i'll double check with him about that.

The memory that this is specifically B-Cell Lymphoma just floated up to the top of my ravaged brain. It's also very much malignant.
